Maui Moisture Frizz Free + Shea Butter Elongating Gel, Hair Styling Gel for Curly Hair, 10 Oz

My hair: caucasian, BSL, Type 3 virgin, low porosity, low density curlsI've been Curly Girl methoding for about a decade now and it's been a WHILE since I've used gel on my whole head. I've been using mousse exclusively for a while and custard before that. I just impulsively wanted to try something different as I was in a rut with results.I was pleasantly surprised by this gel! At first, I thought I used way too much, but in the end my hair did not feel producty. It did in fact do what it claims and elongated my curls a bit while still defining them. Once I scrunched out the cast, I was left with soft definition and no crunch at all. While I don't find it moisturizing at all and it has little to no slip, my hair doesn't look or feel bad at all.I will definitely keep using it (with a leave-in conditioner!)

Controls frizz, gives my curls definition without crunch or stickiness. A little bit goes a long way. Works with freshly washed hair & to refresh/redefine curls the following day.

I have curly hair sone days and some days it's wave only. Thus gel and smoother is definitely for VERY curly hair. It does smooth but most products like this, your can double it as a smoother, a texturizer, a gel, a gloss a styling aid... but this is not good for much but smoothing. I love this brands products on my hair but sadly this wasn't great! May be great for many others but not me!

I wasn’t sure how well this would perform on my curls. The photos are day 2 (I did spray down and added more product). I love how soft it is on my curls and provided really nice definition. It acts like a cream so the fact that it’s a gel and left no crunch was really surprising. My daughter has the same hair just not as thick and it did really well with her hair too. If you have super curly hair I do recommend being generous with it when you apply.

In my home, we have many different hair textures from coiling to straight. I needed a replacement for the Maui curl quench that has been discontinued from the brand(which worked on all of our hair textures). So, I decided to try this product. It works best for my daughters ringlet curls. It helps very little for the more coil textures. I hope that the Maui curl quench gel comes back! Nothing compares

This stuff is fantastic. Does everything it says it will do: Nice wavy hair...elongated curls...moisturizing. I came here to buy another bottle and NO ONE wants to sell it for less than eighteen dollars! That is almost 300 % percent more than what I paid for it 1.5 years ago at 6.75!! I guess that I will just have to go without, because I WILL NOT PAY THAT MUCH!

This gel is AMAZING! Natural product and affordable price that actually does what it promises. Soft curls (after crunching them out) for days. Using just a small amount delivers great results and your hair wont be feeling sticky or weighted. This manufacturer has good natural products at reasonable prices. You can combine a few of them or use them on their own to get the result you want without ending up with too much product on your hair. Has a nice light fragrance.
