Excellent product - can't believe people can't figure this out
These ARE the proper size and thickness. They are just shrunk down from vacuum packing for shipping, as they are otherwise quite bulky once expanded. So RELAX.1. Unpackage them from the vacuum pack wrap.2. They do have a slight smell to them, but not a strong one (smells exactly like the inside of a new car).3. Just place them in direct sunlight in front of a window for 10 minutes. Period. No warm water, dryers, or other ridiculous goofy tricks. Just a little bit of warmth from sunlight does the trick instantly. Trust me.4. They will fully expand in just a few minutes with some direct sunlight. You'll be shocked how "all of that" fit in that tiny little package.5. They work as advertised, and are the size and thickness advertised. It shocks me how negative some of these reviews are for this product when it's a fantastic product that proves itself as such if the included and incredibly simplistic directions are followed.

Garbage
I haven't been this disappointed in an Amazon purchase in a long time. They simply do not work. I spent half the day hanging 48 of them on my wall and the audio in the room didn't change one iota. Just out of curosity, I hung a large blanket across another wall and *could* tell a difference. I also put my face in front of an array of these and spoke normally... no change at all. It sounded exactly like speaking against a bare wall. Doing the same to the blanket? Clearly dampened. The worst part is taking all these panels would probably leave an adhesive mess on my wall, so I'll probably just leave them and try other products on the ceiling and remaining wall areas.Almost $50 and a few hours of work down the tubes. Feels like a giant scam, TBH. How much does this foam cost them? Is it really $50 worth?

These DO NOT soundproof
So unfortunately I learned the hard way because I didn't do research before hand. Foam tiles DO NOT soundproof. They cancel acoustic reverberation and echo to improve sound quality in a recording setting. I bought these because my dog is terrified of storms and thought it would help. It absolutely does not, in any way. I covered her kennel with this glued to cardboard that I attached to the kennel which took a ridiculous amount of time. As far as how well they work with what they are actually intended for, I have no idea, however since they are falsely advertised as soundproofing, I am giving them 1 star.

Can't hang it
Can't get it to stick to double sided carpet tape. Spent an extra 50 bucks on 2 different types. Tape sticks strong to concrete block wall but not foam. Foam falls down within minutes.Figured I would do an update. I got some glue tabs which suck it to the wall. They have been up for a few months, I let them air out at least a week before hanging them so they got to full size. Well they shrink over time and now there are gaps all over where I put them. They look stupid!

Not awful
This product isn't ideal. It is also not terrible. Air compressed set of 48 foam panels that amount to $1.00/per panel isn't that bad of a deal since it covers a lot of wall. How does it compare to the 2" or thicker?... I would assume the thicker the foam, the more absorption, so these are bare minimum. They look great behind a studio set-up and could work if you want to dampen the vibes in a small area or den. The trick to speeding up the inflation process is to use a hair dryer. Foam pops into its form immediately. Does not come with any stickies or glue.
