RANGETIME Targets- Steel Target Full 2x4 Stand and Mount Kit

I have two of these stands. This is the new version. While the hanger on top of the 2x4 is unchanged and fine as it is, the updated base is extremely difficult to assemble/disassemble in the field as compared to the original style. I’ve tried building it on a truck tailgate, directly on the ground, and on a large Dewalt box I use to store targets and stands, and each time it requires three hands and lots of frustration to complete. I ended up just leaving it assembled and transporting it that way.Furthermore, the previous base design put two legs in the direction of the weight, whereas this design only puts one leg forward. This may not seem like a big deal but it does matter on soft and uneven terrain.It certainly packs a little bit smaller, but not enough to mitigate the other issues caused by the redesign.I should have bought multiple stands when they were the previous design.

Excellent product. So much better than the T Post stands I had been using. I can shoot this with a 308 from 70 yards and it does not tip over. Very sturdy.

Works well once set up. The problem was the base was to small to fit a standard 2x4 I had to cut the board to get it to fit.

I like the original design for the base. The new design takes forever to get together. Also if your 2x4 gets wet, it swells and you can’t get it in the stand. The first design you screwed a metal piece to the bottom that never came off, that way if it got wet, you were fine.

The big 3 for me: 1). light weight. 2). Doesn't take up a lot of space (breaks down small), and 3). Fairly priced..... the holy trinity... or if you find that offensive "The Hat Trick."

Super easy to use and breakdown. Hate that the paint chips off when shot....they're so nice out of the box. Highly recommend these, just bring extra 2×4's in case ricochets cut them in half.

Steel is a great training aid, this is a great way to set up steel
