Igennus Ultra Pure Omega-3 EPA 500mg, Highly Concentrated IFOS Certified Wild Fish Oil, Advanced rTG Triglyceride Form, Non-GMO, 90 Small Softgels

I have been using prescription Omega 3's for the past few years to control my triglycerides because they were out of control. The first prescription was for Lovaza, which contains a mix of EPA and DHA. It worked okay but DHA can raise your cholesterol level so I had to start taking atorvastatin in addition to the Lovaza. My doctor switched me to a newer brand (Vascepa) of Omega 3's that was pure EPA. This worked very well to control my triglycerides without raising my cholesterol. However, it is very expensive and I no longer have prescription drug coverage. So, I have been searching and searching for an affordable substitute since I have to take 4 Grams a day! I was extremely happy to find the Pure Essentials Ultra EPA, it is the closest thing to the Vascepa that I have been able to find and most importantly, can afford to buy. I have only been taking it for a few weeks but so far everything seems good. They are small so they are easy to swallow and I haven't gotten any nasty fish burps. I will update this once I have been taking it for a few months and get my triglycerides checked again.

Good product that I have chosen for fish oil. Easy to swallow which is smaller than regular fish oil products. No smell when swallow don’t chew!

EPA by itself is better than EPA with DHA. And the 500 mg dosage on this is good. But of the 90 soft gels, about 30 end up in one solid squishy ball in the middle of the bottle. I have tried putting the bottle in the fridge to let them separate, but that 's not effective. The bottle is too narrow and should allow space for some digging tool to get to them. If they do break open from trying to remove them, that's a fist full of fish oil.... Please fix this.

There was another brand on here that was also EPA only but it had this ridiculous texture that would act like a grappling hook in my throat; this does not. Goes down super easy and is pretty tiny anyway. Really good value, especially compared to Vascepa.Only about 10-15% of people have the DNA to handle DHA in a good way(still good for nursing mothers and kids), for the rest, taking that DHA will increase your LDL and potentially triglycerides; thankfully EPA appears to be good for cholesterol and triglyceride levels for most people.

I’ve tried to order this product twice. I figured the first time was a weird one-off but I liked that it was pure EPA for a good price so I tried again. Not a good choice. Both times the lid was glued on and I couldn’t open either bottle, even with pliers. I even took it to work and no one could open it there and we’re all in our 30s and strong people. Waste of money as I can’t return it.

Dha is good for the brain. I am more worried about my heart now. This is pure, not fishy tasting.

I suffer from Intractable Pain Disease and this is one of the best things my pain specialist recommended! There is no taste to the gel caps, they are easy to swallow.. and that was one of the most important things I was looking for in a HIGH EPA Omega-3. This brand is exceptional. I also take Vitamin D-3, and Melatonin. The combination of the three, working together is amazing! My pain level is MUCH more tolerable, my MOOD is greatly improved, I sleep better and wake up refreshed.
