Buy this product to make your life easier!
I put this on my Shorelander (1812) roller trailer for my Alumacraft Magnum 165 CS.Originally I was a bit skeptical at how well this automatic boat latch system would work. When it arrived, I realized how durable it is after testing its strength by having my son smash it with a sledgehammer a few times. It only took me about 30 mins to install and now I can’t imagine how I lived without it.Before when I’d go fishing, I’d have to back my trailer into the water, get out of my truck, and walk through the water to unhook the bow strap. Now I unhook my straps in the parking lot, back the trailer in the water and my boat floats off the trailer. Getting my boat on the trailer used to be the biggest pain for me, especially when I was fishing solo. Now all I have to do is get the trailer in the water and drive my boat on. When you install the boat load mate to your trailer, you do it in a way that engages the automatic latch when your boat is touching your bow stop, so that when you drive the boat on the trailer and touch your bow stop you know the boat load mate is engaged. Then you simply drive away. When I’m fishing solo I still attach my bow hook when pulling away to be safe but when I have someone else with me, i stay in the boat, give the signal once I’m on the trailer and they pull off the landing. I never have to get out of the boat and nobody else has to mess with cranking the boat onto the trailer which can get dangerous at the end of the day when everyones worn out and the landings busy. This is the simplest and most engenius boating accessory I have bought so far, i wouldn't trade it for anything.

Great idea but plastic just folds up and over when the boat floats
In the pictures notice that the Flipper has lifted up and flipped over backwards and damaged the Mount and Flipper. Hopefully I can get another from the company. Not really sure if another will solve the problem. The Flipper lifts up when the boat floats. Hopefully they have some harder plastic or some solution. Really like this idea just can not make it work right.

Cheap product
If you tighten the nuts too tight the spring loaded center piece wont spring up. If you attempt to loosen the fiber nut it will gall the threads causing you to cut the bolts off to remove them. Great idea but really needs a spacer inside between the outer sides. I had to leave the block visibly loose and able to move it by hand in order for the spring to push the lock up. I bought two but I will be testing this one at the lake before mounting the second.

A "Must Have" With Bunk Slides!
Installed new white polymer type bunk slides on my trailer like they sell on Amazon. Problem was the slides are so slick the boat would literally want to launch itself backing down the ramp if not for the safety strap, and when loading the boat back on the trailer it would slide right off making driving the boat on the trailer almost impossible. I installed a Boat Load Mate on one of the bunks and it works like a dream! Holds the boat in place until in the water to safely launch, and holds it safely in place when putting back on the trailer until the winch strap can be secured! Great Product!
