I used to buy this from wilko, however since they are no longer I needed to look elsewhere, and didn't realise that cilit bang made a citric acid. I love using citric acid for limescale in kettles, baths, sinks, toilets etc. It does a great job, better than the one I've used previously. This will be on my list the next time I need some, but that will be a while as I bought two. Great price, cleans away all the limescale effortlessly.

Good natural product, a tablespoon dissolved in a cupful of water in the kettle removes the limescale. 1 star removed because of the plastic container. That said, it's waterproof and recyclable; I'm just used to buying the cardboard boxes from DriPak. Price won out as these were significantly cheaper on this occasion.

Use it to descale kettle, work's like a charm!

Hard to get lid off but easy to use:- Just be careful to wear gloves, protect your eyes and do not inhale the super strong powder when cleaning and wipe up any splashes if using diluted in water. Cleaned lime scale with ease.

Note that this isn't a powder bicarb.It's more granular, so doesn't make a coating paste to put on toilets/taps etc... the grains fizz when mixed with white vinegar but don't dissolve, so the mixture remains watery.Having said that, it was coarse enough to clean my too-long-neglected wood-block floor when used with water, washing-up liquid and elbow grease, but I suspect I've taken even more of the remaining varnish off now.I can't really say it's not good value for money, because a little goes a long way, but I can't think of any other uses for it other than putting a cupful in my fridge to absorb odours.

Having already used this product myself to keep my loo limescale free, I gave a tub to one of my sons. His fairly new loo was completely brown with limescale. They were going away for a few days so were able to leave the crystals down while they were away. He poured a full kettle of hot water (NOT BOILING) down the loo and then added about half of the tub of Cillit Bang. When they returned he flushed the loo and used a toilet brush to remove any remaining deposits. I've seen the result and it's amazing! Leaving the solution to soak off the limescale overnight is best if possible and hopefully you won't need to add a whole half a tub!

Buying this was something of an experiment. I had a very slow-running sink outflow pipe on my caravan, but was worried that if I used something as strong as caustic soda to try to clear it, it would damage/melt the (flexible) plastic pipe. I tried this (wondering if it would actually not be strong enough), and it worked very well. Outflow pipe now clear, and undamaged - job done!
