The media could not be loaded. Why did you pick this product vs others?:We bought this item to help with the removal of wallpaper that has been on walls since the early 1980s. The wallpaper has two layers; an outer vinyl layer and a typical paper layer pasted to the wall. This steamer is amazing. A few tips: The manufacturer recommends using distilled water instead of tap water so mineral deposits don't build up in the holding chamber. I used tap water and had no problems. The water chamber holds about a half gallon of water and lasts for about 2 hours when steaming. Be very careful when holding the steamer. Hot steam can burn. Unplug the unit and wait a few minutes before refilling the tank. It takes about 12 to 15 minutes to reheat the water and produce steam. There are two attachments for steaming. One is a large plate for bigger areas and one is small for small areas. It is very easy to assemble and use. I used a small, metal putty knife to scrape off the wallpaper after it had been steamed. I held the steamer directly on the surface of the wall for about 30 seconds and it was so easy to then remove the wallpaper. I highly recommend this product! We were worried that it would be a hard project to remove such old wallpaper, but this steamer is fantastic and has made the job easy. Bought this steamer to remove the wallpaper in my kitchen and laundry room area that had been on the wall for 20 years. This steamer worked like a charm, and I was able to remove all the wallpaper easily. Very easy to use, simply fill the container with water, give it about 10 minutes to warm up, once the steam starts coming out, simply place the pad over an area on the wall where you would like to remove the wallpaper. As it works, the heat is transferred to the wall and makes the wallpaper easier. Works great!

The only reason this gets 4 instead of 5 stars is because of how potentially dangerous it is! It works GREAT and I was stripping wallpaper down in huge sheets (very satisfying if you're the kind of person that used to love to peel sunburns in large sheets) - but... because it has no way to control the steam coming out (there's no off-valve or trigger to release it when you want) it just steams constantly, so you can't really pause for a moment and stop, and if you're not careful, could easily burn yourself or others. Definitely don't use around kids.

Took on a job removing some wallpaper that really wanted to stay out. We regrouped and ordered this steamer. It made a world of difference removing the wallpaper! It's lightweight made it easy to work with. The quality is excellent, it's very functional. It didn't take long for the unit to heat up after the initial use either which was nice! It definitely helped get this job done!

It made removal very quick on 20 year old wall paper that had been adhered to plaster walling from 1956.I had been concerned about the heat of the steam and the plastic parts not holding up. However, they proved effective and reliable.I used distilled water when operating and didn’t experience any odors. The noise level while operating was about equal to that of an electric kettle.I would apply steam about 30 seconds on each section with as good a seal as I could get with the tool. Then use a scrapper to work the edge of paper and get underneath to remove large paper size or greater sheets.

Took off a bunch of 1970's grasscloth wallpaper using this. Simple as could be! The steamer is so easy to work and it did a wonderful job. I used the smaller adapter which was basically the size of my scraper and was able to just steam and peel along almost without stopping. I had professionals bid me three days of work to remove what I did with this in less than one day.

This product is fantastic. It removes wallpaper 100 times faster than sprays. I understand some folk received a damaged product, but Amazon are great at replacing a defective product so no reason to leave negative feedback.This is one of those products that just does the job to perfection.

Not the best for what I paid… noise level was fine and it functioned okay, lightweight and easy to set up, but we had a terrible leak. Reordered another and had the same problem. It was more of a headache in removing our wallpaper, so we opted for another product.
