Playmobil 4697 Special: Mother with Baby & Stroller

I bought this set together with  Playmobil Dad with Stroller  to see how my 3.5 year old would take to Playmobil toys. I also bought the Plan baby set (from their dollhouse collection:  Plan Toy Doll House Nursery ) and a family. I love the Plan design and hoped my daughter would gravitate towards the wood Plan Toys. However, she far prefers the Playmobil sets. She played very differently with the two sets - she set up the Plan toys, put the baby in the crib and high chair, pushed the baby around with the stroller, and then she was pretty much done. With the Playmobil strollers, she has played for several hours at a time. For example: her Playmobil family "decided" to go to a carousel. The two stroller sets are the only Playmobil toys we own right now, so she used a Tupperware container as a car, took the strollers apart to use as car seats for the babies, and "drove" them to a Bilibo chair (the carousel). The realism of the Playmobil sets seemed to launch a lot of possibilities for her.In theory, I prefer wood toys to plastic. In practice, I've been amazed at how much mileage she's gotten out of one Playmobil family and two strollers. They're SO kid friendly, and the attention to detail really appeals to my kid. This set is perfect for trying out Playmobil, although for that purpose, I'd recommend getting at least one set with a kid, too - not just a baby. The dad-and-stroller comes with a big sister. It's a way to try out the Playmobil line without making a big investment (of money OR space) in a toy collection.

I was so excited about this toy because I am a runner and my daughter loves to run with me, but the actual product was a little disappointing. The baby doesn't sit securely in the stroller and falls out easily. The mother's hands will grip the stroller handle, but the angle of her arms will only allow her to hold on with one hand at a time.

Like all playmobil toys this one is a good representation of mother and baby. Good for quiet time play along with other family pieces from Playmobil.

Product came in original pakaging. It came early and undamaged. I few more smaller parts then I thought, but good

kids love playing true life and this is a great item for that

This was faulty, I assume it is sold here as the toys that were not correctly made. Disappointed as hair on mum fell over her eye, so looked like a pirate and baby buggy had a random foot rest which didn't allow the child to fit in the buggy! So I have a mum that looks like she's been through a bush backwards and a baby that isn't allowed in its buggy :/

This is a bit over priced and the baby doesn't sit so well in the buggy but it was just what we needed to complete the family to ride on our playmobile bus so the kids were happy.

We just all adore play mobile and this was a great addition to our collection.

Our two year old grandaughter loves this item. It does come apart but easily puts together again-probably better for an older child.
