Dosen't work.
My washing machine has no agitator or lit catcher, the latter is why I purchased these. However, when adding one or more of these to the washer, it/they become entangled in the clothes and they don't collect more than the tiniest amount of lint or hair. It just cannot float on the top of the water without being pulled down into the clothes. I have used these when washing a load of sheets, a blanket, towels, and 4-5 loads of clothes, and other than just a few bits of lint/hair, that I could not see in the mesh, I had to reach in with my finger to feel anything. I pulled out just a pinch of fibers. In my opinion, this product is a waste of money.

The ONLY lint trap for use in washing machines
These things are the only lint traps for use in a washing machine that I've been able to find that do anything at all. They aren't perfect, but I've tried a number of different products and they definitely far outperform the others. I do have to repurchase them every 6 months or so because eventually they break, but they're pretty cheap. I don't have a dryer (which is the main way people get lint off of their clothes) and I have two cats, so I've looked around quite a bit for anything that might help me cut lint and hair from the laundry. They do seem to do a bit more for lint than cat hair, but once again, I haven't found anything I could use as a substitute, so until the time that I do (or I get a working dryer) I'll be using these. Also, it is satisfying seeing the little mesh pocket full of lint after a load. Pic is of little trash can I have next to the washer that I use for the lint. As you can see, they've caught plenty of it that would otherwise still be on my clothes!

Kinda works...
Yes, it collects lint. No, it doesn't open. You are supposed to be able to squeeze the tabs to open the top making it easy to empty the lint collection filter. You can't. Even with pliers. I returned these. Oh... and you only get 2, despite the picture showing you 4. I don't recommend. Keep looking!

Doesn’t last long
Worked nice at first then pops apart, pop back together, then breaks. Lasted a dozen washes each.

Doesn’t work on pet hair
This product seemed like a good idea but I don’t think it works well or at all on High Efficiency washers because they use so much less water. I have a top loading washer that is High Efficient and I have a long hair cat that sheds an ungodly amount of hair. I thought this production would work but it didn’t. Once I ran the load, I checked the net and there was nothing in it at all and all of my clothes still had hair all over them as they normally do. I guess it’s back to the drawing board.

Didn't collect hair as expected
I ran for a few laundry cycles and did not find much fur/hair collected. It also didn't float well and would get caught in the clothes which didn't help. You would need to do a smaller load with more water I believe for this to maybe work.

It works
I am trying to become more environmentally conscious and not use a dryer and save wear and tear on my laundry. I have used this lint catcher for a year with success. A couple of them have broken due to the heavy fabric in my son's pants. I have found that the amount of water determines how much lint it will catch. Also if it doesn't have room to move it may get damaged and not catch as much lint. I am pleased with the ones I have purchased. You just have to use them with average to delicate washer agitation and medium to small laundry loads. I will continue to use them because there is nothing that I can find that works better.

It works
I’m surprised at all the negative reviews. I’ve used these for at least 6 washes and it catches lint. That’s all I can ask for. (I have a top loader machine.)
