Fun gift
Wish the magnet was a little stronger, my 5 year had fun with it. Lots to do and I like that there is a spot to keep the pen magnet so it doesn't get lost.

Excellent maze board lots of fun
What a great concept this maze puzzle is.I will start out by saying that there is no mess with the toy the maze board is encased in a plastic shell so no pieces to lose. There is a magnet wand and that’s how you move pieces around the board. I had a toy similar toy but this is much more exciting and interesting to a larger age group to play with this. It has 4 separate mazes to interest you child and you can play with this anywhere and definitely I would recommend this for a long car ride. Melissa and Doug toys are always very thought out and made out of wood. The concept of this toy is exceptional. I definitely recommend this maze puzzle for a little older child so they get the concept of the magnet wand and how to control it though the 4 mazes. Great toy that would be a great gift idea for any occasion.GRANDMA APPROVES 👍😊

The best magnet board we've found.
We are grandparents of preschoolers who enjoy magnet boards. They've played with them in the children's area of the library. They've played with them at preschool.Amazon sells lots of brands and designs. As usual, though, the Melissa and Doug brand has come up with a really wonderful design by dividing the playing surface into four areas. We hadn't seen that idea before, in our experiences. Most of these boards are one big surface, at least in our experience until now.Of course, it also helps that this is PAW Patrol themed. The PAW Patrol characters are very popular with our preschoolers. One tip we will add: The product page encourages parents and grandparents to consider this board for "travel" and, yes, that's a good point. When we travel with preschoolers, we favor games and sets that are self contained so pieces don't get lost along the way or fall between the seats in a vehicle. However, you and your child will discover that this board is mainly designed to be used flat on a table or on the floor. On a recent trip with this board, we discovered that the tilted incline of the board, while using it over our particular child safety seat, made the board much more difficult to use. We actually wound up not trying to use the board in the car because it was hard for our little granddaughter to balance it on her seat and it usually wound up at a steep angle, frustrating our grandchild.Other than that one tip, though, this is a 5-star choice, in our view, for preschool magnet boards.

GOOD MAZE BUT IT'S CHALLENGING TO NAVIGATE JUST ONE BALL
This Paw Patrol maze has four sections. The first section has a little construction truck and balls which you are to drop into little shoots. You sort by color. The second section has round pieces with images of vehicles and such. It's a bit difficult for me to make out. You are supposed to move these circles into little recessed parking places, but I can't tell which circle is supposed to be moved into which parking space. Perhaps a young Paw Patrol fan will be able to match these better. The third section has two little balls, a yellow one and a blue one. There are three recessed alcoves, two of which have bones. I see no rhyme or reason to this maze, but it's elaborate. The fourth section has yellow, red, green, and blue balls which are to be sorted into large circles of matching colors. The board is wood and sturdy. The maze is covered. Nothing is going to fall out of it. The magnetic pen is attached. The pen is quite small, only around two inches long. I would have preferred if it had been longer. There is a fundamental flaw with this maze. When you attempt to manipulate a ball, other balls tag along for the ride. It is challenging to shake off the extra balls, and this aspect of the maze is bound to prove frustrating.

Cute and fun but the plastic scratches super easily
I ordered this for my 1.5, 3, and 5 year olds to play with. It reminded me of the stuff they used to have in doctors offices and seemed like a lot of fun plus they all live paw patrol. It’s definitely a fun little game but is a little advanced for the 2 younger kiddos. They still have fun messing around with it though. Unfortunately though the little magnet pen isn’t very precise and that caused a lot of frustration for my 5 year old. I think it would be better to have a little more of a point that could nicely pick up just one ball at a time. With this it tends to pick up multiples and takes some pretty complicated (for a 5 year old) maneuvering to get the ball you want separated. The cord for the pen could be a little longer too. It does reach everywhere you need but just barely. Lastly and perhaps the most disappointing is that after just playing with it a few times, the plastic on top is already getting scratched and scuffed up. I feel like it’s only a matter of time before it gets that foggy look to it where you can barely see through it. Especially with the pen going over the same areas regularly it’s going to get a bit frustrating. Overall I really like the idea of this and the little games are fun but the quality is a bit sub par for me especially for Melissa and Doug.
