Very cool, well made, but too small for small or large hands. Buy them in a 5mm size!
First let me say that I bought this specifically for my autistic 6 year old to play with at church. The product itself is very high quality and exactly as advertised, but honestly these magnets are too small for hands smaller than a teenager, and are hard to really do anything with unless you're sitting at a desk or table. I did not send them back, but rather opted to send them to work with my husband (who has ADHD) to play around with while he's on the phone at work. It is pretty satisfying to play around with these in your hands. Here's what is great about this product:- Packaging/accessories: I love the packaging that these come in and the fact that they come with a great little storage box, a magnetic plate for building vertical structures and a little manual that tells you how to make basic shapes and more advanced shapes as well. It's colorful and detailed and very well made/written, which I really appreciate!-Quality: Top to bottom, the manufacturer did not skimp on this product. It's all very well conceptualized and designed and works exactly like it's supposed to.-Cool/fun: This is a really unique toy/fidget that people of all ages would enjoy! I think it would make a really cool gift for a friend or co-worker or stocking stuffer for just about anyone! I love that it's simple science and has no batteries, makes no noise etc. What I don't like is very simple. They're just too small in my opinion to be very workable, especially for kids. I ended up buying the 5mm size in a different brand (I was sad to find out that Speks only makes these in 2.5mm sizes) and those are much better and easier to use in my opinion and is what I would recommend to anyone who is looking at purchasing these. See my pictures for comparisons between the two. The 5mm ones didn't come with a magnetic plate or an instruction manual, but otherwise are great and are also quite a bit cheaper. In short, this is an awesome, quality product, but for small hands or big hands, they're just not very easy to work with. I think you'll be happier with the 5mm size. Hope this helps someone else!

What is this? A desk toy for ants?
This desk toy for "stress relief" has caused me excessive amounts of rage the past few days. For someone with big hands like me (L/XL glove size), these are straight up impossible to do anything with other than mash them around in your hand aimlessly. I've followed all the included instructions and been incredibly patient. I've spent several hours trying to build each shape in the book, with a 0% success rate on anything with more than 1 dimension - it always ends up falling apart at the last step. Definitely not worth 25 bucks. Bought two, returned two.Rating two stars because the packaging was neat and the concept is cool - they're just too damn small. Trying an off-brand 5mm one next.

Good stuff, a bit pricey
I got silver for me, blue and gold for my son (Go Bruins!)1) They are small. Each magnet is about half of the diameter of a BB.2) There really are 512.3) The charm of this particular set is the scale, quantity, and a low magnetic field that allows you to pull them apart like string cheese. It's awesome.4) Yes, swallowed magnets can kill. So can bees and peanut butter. Mitigate the risk accordingly. A first good step is to keep these out of the hands of children. Most of the negative reviews focus on the 2.5mm size of each magnet. I'm not sure that's worth one star. The dissatisfied owners should just return them and read more carefully next time.

Dangerous
My 6 year old grandson swallowed 3 of these tiny magnets. He was hospitalized for 4 days. These are very strong earth magnets and became stuck in his small intestine. For four days and nights, he had to take strong laxatives and had at least two X-rays daily. Just when the surgeon was about to preform surgery, they finally moved into his large intestine and they could scope them out. It was a very scary week!!! I am sorry to have to say that these magnets should not be sold as a children’s gift. I sincerely hope no one else has to experience what our family had to go through just a couple of months ago.

These are fun and strong
Very small, see picture for comparison to original buckyballs. They have a bigger size on their website which may be similar. These are fun and strong

not worth $25
I was shocked to see how tiny this product is. Don't go by the picture which is misleading. The actual cube is less than one inch square and the little magnetic balls are tiny. It's an interesting puzzle but really overpriced for what you get. For this amount of money I expected a gift and not a trinket stocking stuffer. I wonder how this product has received almost 5 stars from so many people. It must be "yet another" case of paid reviews. This is becoming a real problem in ecommerce. Unless I know the product I'm buying online I'm inclined to go back to buying things in a real physical store.

This is beyond tiny
I was surprised as exactly how small this thing is. I am a petite 5'2" human and you can see the package in my hand and the actual magnet part is about as large as my middle knuckle. For $25 this is not worth it.

Speks are really tiny...hence the name, it seems
Before you purchase these, just be aware that they are REALLY, REALLY small! The cube of magnetic balls is maybe a 1.5 inch cube. The product description images may be misleading if you don't have a concept of how tiny 2.5mm is.
