Huge Step Up Over Shure Bluetooth Cable
I've been using the supplied Shure Bluetooth Cable with my iPhone, to get around the lack of a headphone jack. The sound with my 846's is good, don't get me wrong, but was a considerable step down from the wired connection to my iPod. I tried Apple's adapter jack but, to be honest, it's pretty basic, and didn't improve the sound at all. This cable is pretty expensive, but I decided to treat it as a combined DAC and cable purchase, and take a chance on it. I'm aware of the durability issue some other reviewers have found with the lightning plug, so the (fairly basic) packaging is safely stored in case I have to return it.Well - how does it perform? Is it worth it? I have to say "yes" with one qualification, which I'll get to. The sound is a complete step up from the Bluetooth connection, easily on a par with the previous wired connection. I'd even go so far as to say that in a noisy environment with a portable source, it's even better. The DAC seems to reach deeper into every recording, making for a more realistic, more punchy sound (and this is using the middle, neutral, tuning of the 846s).I'd say the cable easily worth the money. So what's the problem? I'm finding this cable and earphone combination very difficult to use at work. After a track and a half of whatever I'm playing, I seem to stop working, completely lost in the music. Could it be that this is too good for work?

Great!
MUCH better build quality & cheaper in comparison to the earlier version I had which fell to pieces... I would prefer a Lightning version, but at the price being shown I'll stick to this version. This version has reinforced & moldable style wire for over the ears whereas the previous version did not.

I've had paper bags which last for longer
I've always had a preference for Shure but I can corroborate the reliability issues. Three months of very regular but careful usage and it has begun to switch off in response to small cable movements or just become unrecognised by the iPhone completely until you unplug and plug it in again. It's still just about 'usable'—if I’m just sitting. Otherwise, on the move, it’s already a complete dud.

One star
As others have mentioned there are real issues with the quality and durability of this product. I have used the cable with SE535 ear buds for three months and it is now unusable due to the sound cutting out or it not being recognised by my iPhone. Not the quality to be expected of a GBP 99.00 cable.I am also unsure who to return the product to.

Shure Quality for your Mobile Phone
Could be made better by right angled plug considering its going into a phone that's in your pocket.

Two Stars
Poor durability; not up to the same standards as the included cables.

Faulty product
Poor quality - gave up the ghost after less than a year and was faulty for months before then with the connection to my iPhone dropping intermittently (using an official Apple adapter)

very sad
Not the best sure could have done, also not well grounded, keeps electrocuting me. They should have sunken the connector so its not exposed
