Just the job
I cannot understand any of the negative reviews. This is a top notch product. Does the job and if you read the instructions you can do a great job. I have grey laminate that had a couple of chips from install. I sorted them no problems with this first attempt. I had bought some other colour blocks to match in.

Easy, seamless laminate repair
Great kit for repairing our flooring, certainly cheaper than a new floor.

My saving grace for flooring chip
Used to patch up a small chip that broke my heart after days of floor laying. Now I can't see where the chip was. Seriously, I'm very impressed. I now look for oppertunities to use this as it's easy and works brilliantly. You can mix the colours if needed but most all types of floor colours are accommodated anyway. Highly recommend if you value your flooring. For reference I have a oak floor and one of the colours matches perfect to this. Even if it didn't I'd be confident I could mix the correct colour.Just don't be an idiot and touch the end to see how hot it gets, I did and I can tell you, extremely hot!

Supplied heater not hot enough for the wax
Very hard wax so supplied heater struggles to melt the stick

Easy to use, patience and a good eye for colours is important.
Bought this to repair many cat scratches in a clear varnished oak engineered door. Cats had been climbing up and hanging on the ridges where the glass panels begin and used their hind legs to scratch the heck out of the door. This kit surprisingly worked amazingly and with a lot of time and patience it is really difficult to see the repairs. I mixed a couple of colours that closely matched to the door and on the fly applied to each scratch, finishing each one as I went. I’d recommend not filling everything at once but rather one at a time and finish off each one before moving on to the next. Not a great use of time but it’s best to scrape off and polish before it goes totally hard so try and hit it with the scraper quickly after you have filled it with the hot wax. I found if you leave it to go properly hard it tends to pop out of the repair completely.

Good product and worked well
It is a good product once you have practiced a bit. You need to mix the colours together to get the correct wood look and grain but once you can do that it works fine

Zero stars!
If I could give this kit, zero stars, I would. My new laminate floor has unfortunately been scratched by tradesman walking into my new kitchen extension, despite laying dust sheets. I suspect that a tiny stone had stuck in the tread of someone’s shoes. I tried this product on a light scratch, which shows as a white line when’s it catches the light. The scratch hasn’t punctured the laminate surface, but although it can hardly be felt, it’s still unsightly. I tried this kit and as others have mentioned, the melting tool is quite slow to heat up. I’m thinking of trying new batteries, instead of the cheap ones that are included in the pack, to see if this makes any improvement in the wax behaviour. The wax colours are actually good, as you can get an excellent match if you blend them. However, that’s where the positives end. The wax is hard; very hard. When you use the scraper tools to remove the excess, the whole area cracks off from the surface as it’s so brittle. I then tried scraping it off immediately after placing it, whilst it was still slightly warm. This resulted in a smudge over too large an area. Then it came off the floor completely, in big chunks, again. Also, even if it looks like it covers the trauma, with such shallow damage, as there is no depth to the scratch, the wax had to be left sitting proud and you could feel a lumpy texture where the wax was placed. After trying to reduce the height, it cracked off completely, again. After trying this a few times, I’m left with the original scratch and the area is now rather shiny too, because of wax residue.I think I’ll have to try a scratch pen but they all seem to be for wood, not QS laminate. To be honest, I’m wondering if there is such a product to cover a superficial scratch.

The applicator heats up to slow and does not reach a sufficiently useful working temperature (I ended up using a small screw driver and a lighter). The wax is good for matching multiple colours and applies well to chips or gouges giving a good finish but it is completely useless for scratches as it does not hold in the reduced surface area when smoothing, it just flakes away.
