Angry at wasting my time with another flawed product.
Terribly disappointed. Had to try half a dozen times to get the first speaker working with the setup from the app continually failing on an iPhone 6S. Eventually got it working probably by luck.If you use their app to listen to internet radio on one speaker it was ok and good. Then I added another in a different room, linked the speakers and worked well so I had high hopes. However it appears if you move away from this simple setup using their app it all goes wrong. If you use Apple Airplay it doesn’t support the link that is a major flaw. If you alternatively try to connect your phone to use Bluetooth it is again flaky. Whilst I was wasting my Saturday afternoon trying to sort all this it also started loosing speakers, saying it was connected when it wasn’t, showing three speakers when there were two and it just ended up messy. Why large manufacturers promote features and know damn well they are flaky is frustrating. Yamaha has great heritage but flushing it all down the toilet doing things like this. Packing it all up to return it now. Angry just doesn’t cover it.

Recommended for anyone who can't quite bear the cost of a Sonos setup
The unit is powerful enough for a 20 sq.m. room. Sound quality is excellent, a little bass heavy to my ears as a default, but this is easily adjusted. The unit is very solid, and comes with a rubberised base and additional adhesive pads, so unwanted vibration shouldn't be a problem. The Musicmatch app is fairly easy to get on with, very quickly recognises any DLNA servers you have set up, also has access to Airplay, Net Radio, Spotify, Deezer et al, or can just be used as a Bluetooth speaker. Remembers the last source used, so when you switch it on it'll continue from wherever it was when you switched it off. I have 2 of these in different rooms and connecting them is straightforward, though I suspect the quality of the syncing will be very dependant on your wifi.

Disappointing
I have owned a Yamaha stereo system with active servo technology for many years, and really enjoyed the excellent sound and build quality. So when looking for music streaming systems and finding Yamaha's music cast solution I did't hesitate. I now regret my choice dearly. Firstly, I find the app frustratingly clunky. The system will turn itself off, and needs several seconds to reboot each time. You can link multiple speakers together, a most basic feature I would argue, but there is no way to select linked speakers as default. Which means after each reboot you need to select the linked group again manually! Even after one year waiting for an update to fix this it is not solved. And to top it off one of the speakers continually disconnects/reconnects. I will replace this poorly designed system with a Sonos one, and won't be buying from Yamaha again any time soon.

Truly Brilliant.
These speakers are truly amazing! They easily fill a large room with balanced full sound. Given their size the bass is astounding. We’re so pleased we bought another for the dining room. We listen to music stored on a NAS dlna server & Internet Radio which auto connects with power on so easy to just switch on & listen without needing to fiddle with apps. The Music Cast system is brilliant. Now have 4 units.

Impressive speaker
Really like this speaker. Good quality build and sound. Can eq it via the musiccast app. with treble mid and bass adjustment. Easy to set up but make sure the firmware is up to date if you are linking it with another device. Again this is done via musiccast app under settings.

Good sounding small speaker
Good speaker, connects well and sound quality is really good for its size. Musiccast app is ok, not the best but works relatively well and when linked to other speakers in my house creates a great music system. Whilst you can link these to a soundbar they do not function as surround speakers so look elsewhere if that's what you are after.

Good sound, flakey connection.
The speaker is a nice little package and provides pleasing sound, decent base and clear mids and highs. Although this is let down by the mediocre connection and setup. Connections constantly drop and it needs resetting frequently, once it goes on standby it often needs to be unplugged and replugged for it to start. Until they fix this in the firmware I’d be hesitant to reccommend it

Good price, good sound, solid build.
Nice feel product with a reassuring weight and build quality. Be warned that you need to break them in and to begin with sound is okay but tge more ive used them the better they've become and at £100 cheaper per pair than Sonos are very happy. Software is intuitive and wifi range is good. Highly recommend.
