Q: what exactly has to be put together or assembled in order to use this scooter?

Firstly, pull up the Plastic Lever to unfold the scooter, open the kickstand, insert two handlebar grips into T-connector. Secondly, slide the stem tube onto the threaded tube, then align the handlebar, and finally tighten "C" shaped clamp completely.

Q: Whar is the clearance between the deck and the ground? What kind of bearing does it have? How much is the deck large and wide?

Clearence is around 2.4 inches. Deck size 5.5 inches wide & 20 inches long for the rubber mat, but the foot step I use only about 14 inches. It has metal bearing.

Q: what is the top speed this will go?

This is a manual kick-scooter, where speed is dependent on rider weight and how hard you can kick off the ground. With that said, bigger wheels help smooth bumps in the sidewalk but also reduce how efficient your push translates into how far you can coast. A bumpy sidewalk reduces your speed and coasting distance anyway, so 7-8” wheels seem to be the industry average. Higher quality (and clean) wheel bearings, stiffer suspension, and lower weight also help improve efficiency.
