High Quality
Caused rapid inside console flash on my non-LED VAG rear blinker installation. Oddly other then hearing and seeing the double time blinkers on the console, the exterior blinkers continued to blink properly. The light was illuminating through a red assembly and displayed pure amber although not as bright as OEM bulbs. My other Phillips LEDs in use in my car are working just fine. If you are looking for quality LEDs. Don't think you can go wrong with Phillips. Be sure to confirm the correct bulbs. I used their crosswalk philipsautolighting website. For 3 of my vehicles, I have found the Phillips did a great job putting this together. Gave 5 stars because the Phillips website did not recommend LED for my blinker application but I stubbornly wanted this to work. They were right and I was wrong. Their other bulbs have worked great for the other recommended bulb replacements.

Fit in my motorcycle blinker assembly perfectly
I bought it to replace the old incandescent bulbs in my blinkers on my CBR1100XX rear tailights. These take up the same amount of room and are a direct replacement for their old tech counterparts. As a side note, I replaced the fronts as well (different LED bulbs) and spent 20$ to have a plug and play LED blinker relay made for my bike. I HIGHLY recommend you do the same or any LED blinker is not going to operate properly. 5 stars

Poor light output
I purchased these to replace the #1056 12v incandescent dome lights in my trailer. These new LED bulbs are almost a blue light but very dim compared to the original lights. It would be interesting to compare the actual lumen output of the two bulbs. If you want 6100k blue lights that are very dim, these are great. If you don't care about light color but want a bright bulb, these are not for you.

Adequately Bright
This fits in my Ford's brake lamps which blow with surprising regularity. It's not so clear from the pictures, but the lamp has 3 sets of 6 leds (total 18) across its surface, with each set about 120 degrees apart. The white housing is made of rather soft plastic which deformed as I fitted the bulb into the socket. It's quite bright but not with a "retina burning" intensity. Some cars (such as my own) indicate a stop lamp failure when using these bulbs. One is supposed to use the resistors (sold separately) to overcome this. These resistors have to be crimped across each bulb's wiring. Each resistor is rather large and is fitted with a heatsink which should be affixed to the vehicle. Seems like a waste of power just to get rid of the message so I've not bothered.

Easy replacement bulbs.
These red LED bulbs are smaller than the standard bulbs with this size base, so there is mo problem installing them. They fit fine. They didn't work as turn signal bulbs in my car, because they draw so little power the system incorrectly detects a burned out bulb and blinks very rapidly. I didn't rate longevity, since I have had them for only a month. I expect they will last a long time, but that remains to be proven.

There are brighter choices for backup bulbs
I have a 2004 BMW 330Ci coupe, E46. I have been running other bayonet LED backup lights for a few years, but someone recently pointed out to me that the right one was flickering. Gah!My experience with Philips LED bulbs for the home is that they are the highest quality lights you can buy. They don't cause drama like other brands do. When I saw that they now sell automotive lighting, I decided to pay a little more so that the bulbs would not cause trouble for years.Unfortunately, these size 1156 bulbs are dimmer than the LEDs they're replacing. The problem is that they lack a front projector which is necessary to really throw the light. They seem better suited to running as white sidemarkers. These bulbs are a great step up from incandescent bulbs, but you'll want a brighter pair of backup lights. I would only suggest you run these as backup lights if you're ok putting up with modest brightness in order to benefit from a long expected lifespan.

If your car has a bulb-out warning light on the dash, these may not unless you get extra needed part
I have an older (2000) Mercedes which has on its dash board a light that illuminates whenever a blown light bulb is detected. I ordered these LED's and, sure enough, when I installed them (to replace the rear incandescent stop light bulbs) the dash light came on. I put the old incandescent bulbs and the light went off. I am aware that when converting over from incandescent to led bulbs in your auto that there are some important considerations - light whether or not your car as the aforementioned warning light and, if LED's will be used for turn signals, the type of flasher (digital vs. non-digital) that your car has installed from the factory.I wanted to keep these bulbs as they worked well but didn't want the annoyance of seeing the bulb-out warning light all the time - so I contacted philips support and by the time I got a response (over a week later) I had already decided to return them. The side of the box that the LED's come in states that an extra part might be needed if one has a warning light issue (like I had). But the box says nothing about how to go about obtaining this part! Now doesn't that make perfect sense?!? Answer: no. And by the time I heard back from Philips it was already too late - as I said, I had returned them by then. And, by the way, the CANbus canceller (which is what the part is referred to as) adds another $16 for the pair of them that you'll need to make things work without the dash light going on and this only adds insult to injury. On top of being inconvenienced - I should have been made aware of the possibility that an extra part might have been needed BEFORE I placed the order - I then wasted yet more time installing and uninstalling them when I found out that I had the warning light issue. Even worse, I then had to spend yet more time calling and emailing to get answers and by the time I got them I had become so frustrated that I just figured it all wasn't worth it (in time and money) and returned them. This is not how you do business people. Not if you want to generate good will with your customers anyway. If your business model entails making the buying process more complicated and convoluted than it needs to be then you've succeeded superbly. And this criticism is directed at both the seller and philips (the manufacturer of these particulare LED's who then licensed the product name to another company to sell them...yes, as I said "convoluted" - and unnecessarily so.Big business need to get back to the old-fashioned, common sense approach to customer sales and service. Not this "guess your best and waste a lot of time in the process" approach. But, then again, nowadays more than ever...common sense isn't so common.
