I wanted a 4-in-1 meter and this was the brand that worked best for me. I took it out of the box and tried it out on several of my plants and it worked great. Two other brands I tried had thicker probes that had "grooves" near the tip and dirt was building up in them after only one reading and one of those other brands broke after one use. This probe does not have those grooves and seems far more robust to me.

I couldn't read my old meter because the meter and probe were in a straight line. The Sonkir bends on the probe so I can stick it in the ground and put the meter at a 90 degree angle to the probe so I can see the readings. Very nice. The 3 readings, light, moisture and pH seem accurate. Just what I need to keep my flowers happy and my hydrangea blue like I want it.

I ordered this for indoor plants - I didn't see anywhere in the description that it was for outdoor plants only. It did not work - no readings at all, not even light. I sent it back. Same with the second one. I went through the troubleshooting, thinking I must be doing something wrong, but couldn't figure it out. Went to the seller's website and emailed customer service. No response. It seems like a really nifty item, but I can't give it a good review if I can't get it to work for me.

Set toggle, put in dirt, read the outcome, wipe down prongs. Done!

The instrument has 4 functions. It is mystifying how one metal tip poked in the ground provides nutrient data or pH values. There needs to be some kind of reference material provided with the instrument to calibrate it. Typically a standard would be provided to verify the accuracy of this instrument, but none is provided. Therefore, the buyer has to trust the manufacture's claims, and that is difficult to do given the current tendency for products to be making false claims. Who really knows if this thing works or not. I would rather purchase a soil tester which is scientifically proven valid and not just a piece of junk which has no means of ascertaining its accuracy.

I bought this to help me know when to water the house plants. My thumb is anything but green. It also measures soil pH and amount of light that the plant is receiving. All features function properly. Hopefully this will allow my plants to live longer!

I sent back the digital model similar to this. Was not accurate. This unit is way more accurate and has been a game changer with my plants. It tests soil hydration, PH levels and light exposure. Amazing

It is a wonderful product. I have used products of many brands before. After a few uses, they all went to waste. It is very easy to use and very understandable.

Perfect little device for gardeners learning the trade to help know with moisture, nutrient, light and pH.
