The Day Coffeyville Bled: The Dalton / Johnson Gang Paperback – Illustrated, August 26, 2005

The book is pretty good in that it provides a ton of detail about the post-raid lives of some fo the characters involved in the raid and the defense by the town. I was hoping for far greater analysis of the raid and more detail of what took place. Instead, there is a lot of detail on the possibility of a Dalton raider who escaped and that it might be a woman. The author fixes on this and devotes most of the book to trying to determine if the theory has merit and who might be the gal. All in all it was kind of interesting. But I wish that the raid itself would have had more attention by the author.

THIS BOOK IS FULL OF A LOT OF FICTION, READER BEWARE. IF YOU WANT A GOOD HISTORY OF THE DALTONS, READ NANCY SAMUELSON'S BOOK.
