A good trombone but not the best
A good instrument, however not always the best sound, I found it took me some getting used to but that is most likely because of being used to a different sized mouth piece

Fantastic
I play a few brass instruments and I wanted a trombone on the cheap to knock around on. I was sceptical what this would be like for the price but I was pleasantly surprised. It plays and sounds great. Exceeds all expectations: a perfectly good instrument that's hard to fault. Nice distorting trombone sound when played forte. I wasn't fond of the Gears4Music branding, but you know what, they've done a good job, I'm not ashamed to show it off at all.

Fat trombone!
Okay, we bought these trombones for a youth music project and they are great - a good clear sound and a smooth slide. BUT (and it's quite a big but...) they are unusually wide across the slide and so are very hard for a smaller player to hold. So don't buy it for your 9 year old nephew but do buy it for your full size uncle's retirement present! If you're looking for a cheap instrument for a small child, have a look at pBones (plastic trombones) which are good for little guys. This is an instrument for the big boys (14+) in my opinion, and for full size beginner trombonists it offers excellent value for money and would be an ideal starter instrument.
