Yes, you can. CicaSolution should be used during sleep as well. Some dermatologists recommend covering it with gauze to increase the speed at which softens and reduces the scar tissue.

I can't say if it would stain or not per say because I have not gotten any on my clothes. But if you research whether or not the ingredients in which it is made of it may help in answering your question. I know that it contains Silica and bees wax. It has the consistency of slightly dry children's school paste.

Q: can you apply makeup over it?

I do yes. First I apply the Silicone Scar Stick, but because it is a little bit sticky like people mention I wait about 5-10 minutes and kind of let it dry. Once its dry I continue to apply my makeup as normal, liquid foundation and then powder. So I'm sure you should be fine just let it dry a little bit before applying. :)
