Lowe's Best-Selling 1-Story Home Plans Paperback – May 3, 2010

Book came sooner than expected and I am looking in it as I write this review, this book has all I need to find a perfect home plan and to reduce the size for a smaller version.. Thanks

Some of the plans were hard to read the side measurements, so it would be hard to compare to the home that you are currently in to get an idea of dimensions. Also, several of the homes used a basement or second floor even though it was supposed to be one story homes only. Despite these issues, I would recommend the book as a starting point for new construction plans.

Think these books should be tailored for the section of the country they are being sold in. The largest majority of these plans were for basement, walk out basements or crawl space foundations. Living in Texas all I want is to see plans for slab foundations. So only a couple dozen plans would serve my needs. And I don't want to pay major dollars to have another plan converted to a slab.

Good for those starting the search for home building plans. Just thought I would add that I went to 3 Lowes trying to find home plan books. Not a one in site.

My husband has spent countless hours poring over this book and dreaming of our future house. The book contains countless options and good accompanying information for each plan.

Nice collection of house plans with great descriptions and pics!!

This book is really a catalog of floor plans for the purpose of ordering blueprints for $500 to $2500. As a general reference book, it's really not too bad. Just think it should be made clear that it is really a sales catalog and that you can't legally use any of the floor plans without purchasing a license and several sets of blueprints.

Gives great choices to choose from. Gives a person ideas to use and where to get plan.

I bought this as a gift for my father and he loved it. He is impressed with how many plans it has in it, and is excited to start thinking about retirement now
