Master Toiles canvasses are manufactured in France according to the most authentic French tradition and have been appreciated by painters for 30 years. They are used in museums, galleries, fine arts and restoration schools as well as many cultural projects and institutes, religious and historical buildings.Wood frames are made of Landes solid pine wood and delivered with wood wedges made in beech, a very rigid wood. Wood components are assembled using bridle or mortise and tenon joints according to tradition in French woodworking. Battens are sorted and molded to eliminate knots, sapwood and other defects. Wood is dried in stoves so that they do not bend later. Thickness is large enough to avoid any bending. Besides, canvas design is reinforced with cross-beams when size requires it. Beech wood wedges sizes are adapted to the frame sizes for more comfort and ease-of-use. Canvas is made with 75% cotton and 25% polyester for more elasticity and flexibility. This flexible canvas is particularly resistant to moisture and unusual temperatures implied by collage for instance. Battens are sorted and molded to eliminate knots, sapwood and other defects. Canvas is primed with two layers of a universal black acrylic primer and is ready to paint. It supports all techniques : acrylic, oil, encaustic, alkyd, tempera, gouache, airbrush, marker, graffiti… The elasticity of the polyester-cotton fabric allows to withstand vigorous brush and knife strokes and other tools available to artists, as well as collage and scrapbooking for example. Canvasses are delivered in consolidated parcels and damaged products are exchanged when damage is proven using a picture or when refusing parcel at delivery time.
