Loses time
It loses about two minutes a day. Other than that it is a good watch for the price.

Made in Malaysia, but Really Nice!
I'll admit, when I first saw this watch and read the description I thought I was getting a Japanese made automatic. However, the watch itself is clearly marked as having a Malaysian movement, which makes sense, as this watch is a definite bargain (Amazon had it for under sixty dollars when I purchased it). That said, it is a genuine Seiko, and the quality is perfectly solid. There are a few details that give away the bargain status; if you look closely you can see a couple of specs that are either dust or scratches on the dial (under the Hardlex Crystal), but there is no comparison to the cheap, Chinese automatics. This is a real watch, made by a company with high standards. Now, for the exciting part: this watch is really accurate! I wasn't expecting this watch to be as accurate as a quartz watch, and it isn't, but for an automatic it seems amazing. When it first arrived it ran about 10 seconds slow per day. After owning it for a week I decided to purchase a 3-pronged tool to unscrew the back, where I could poke the regulating lever with a toothpick (careful not to touch anything else) and after a few days of trial and error, dialed this watch in so that it runs about 1.5 seconds fast per day! For a sub-sixty dollar watch! I am delighted. I have heard that the 7S26 movement that is in this and most Seiko 5 watches is robust and simple enough to not need professional service after a couple years, which I guess most fancy automatics require. I haven't had it that long (only about a month) but I'd say that this watch is one of the best bargains I have encountered in a LONG time. Cheers!

Don't believe the hype. NOT a good Seiko watch!
Terrible watch.First, the instruction booklet was all WRONG. It said to pull out the crown to the second stop to set the day of the month, but the second stop set the day of week instead.Second, the instruction booklet said to pull out the crown to the first stop to set the day of the week, but that setting sets the day of the month, not the day of the week.Third, the instructions say to pull the crown out to the second stop and stop the second hand on 12 before setting the hour and minute hands to the correct time. HOWEVER, no matter what you do, the Second Hand NEVER STOPS MOVING! ACK! Worse, yet, over 24 hours, the second hand goes 5 seconds off, then 12 seconds off, then 17 seconds off, then 11 seconds off... yeah... this is NOT your father's Seiko.Fourth, this thing is sooooo heavy, it actually generates it's own gravity.Fifth, the "gift box" it came in was marred and scuffed inside.Sixth, the "watch pillow" inside box was marred and scuffed. Finally, the tag said, retail $185.00. And although it was sold for only $58.00 it was $58.00 overpriced.Yeah. This Seiko went right back to Amazon for a refund.Sad. Seiko had such good watches once upon a time.

Great watch!
I did A LOT of looking around when my old watch died (Fossil) and I was drawn to the Seiko 5 line. The automatic movement appealed to me, and the crystal back plate is a nice touch as well. I bought this watch as my everyday work watch. I am a manufacturing engineer and go from working in the machine shop, to business meetings in the same day. This watch wears well and has great eye appeal to match my needs. It matches my business casual look very well. I love the black face and white hands. The red second hand tops off the look in my opinion. I like this watch so much, I will be adding more of the Seiko 5 series in the future.

The face is very small. It looks like a womans watch.
I was shocked at how small the watch is. It looks much smaller than what I was expecting. It is a Christmas gift and I hope they will wear it because I wouldn't.
