Wow this stuff is Awesome!
I heard about this stuff and thought I would give it a try. No place in Duluth Minnesota had it so I ordered it from Amazon. This stuff works amazingly well. I caught more fish then my 2 friends who were right next to me and using plain old borax to cure their bait. I cured some for a friend and he had so much success he bought 2 bottles for himself. The rainbow trout and steelheads just tore this stuff up.

Good Cure
I bought this to cure some salmon eggs that I wanted to use for steelhead fishing. It worked out quite well, I just cut up the skein and mixed some of the borax o fire in with it inside of a ziplock bag and let it sit for 24 hours. It stiffened up the eggs quite nicely. It makes them perfect for putting chunks right on your hook or tying the eggs into spawn sacs.

Great cure but the pink definitely leans red
I used the pink Borx O' Fire cure to cure up Steelhead eggs I harvested from a fresh catch (I don't harvest Steelhead just for their eggs, I enjoy filleting and eating them for dinner), which are orange naturally. I've attached photos showing the cured result (inside the ziplock bag), how they looked tied into spawn sacks, and what they looked like before curing. From here on out I'm using the natural color as the pink leans far too red...might work well in dirty water but certainly does not retain the natural color of trout eggs. Dyes are best used for skein. If you're fishing for steelhead, natural is your best bet. Otherwise Borx O' Fire does work well as a cure and makes for some plump, firm eggs that will last more casts than uncured.

The hubby love this for curing eggs. Pink seems to perform better than orange at Lake Deweese and 11 mile Reservoir in Colorado.
