OhmKat Video Doorbell Power Supply - Compatible with Skybell HD - Needs No Existing Wiring - Transformer, Adapter, Power Kit & Supply All in One

The media could not be loaded.  I bought this because I needed to locate my SkyBell on the other side of my door as the original doorbell (which would not charge the SkyBell since it was a very old mechanical bell system). However, after a couple days my SkyBell HD went from working to Red/Blue blinking (insufficient power). Sometimes it would go to a full off and reset. After checking my contacts, connections, and install I reached out to SkyBell customer support. This was their response: "Though the OhmKat says that it is compatible with the SkyBell it is not. If you would like to use a DC adapter with the SkyBell we recommend using a regular DC Adapter and a 10watt 10ohm resistor on the line with it."This product does not work with the SkyBell HD. Their claim of compatibility is false. At best they SkyBell is on for a lower percentage of the day, with unpredictable results.

These guys are awesome. The unit itself gets the job done and it works flawlessly. I wanted to attack a mechanical doorbell to my skybell. These guys tested a setup in their office and then sent me a wiring diagram. I went to home depot and bought the model that they tested. I wired everything up and let the unit sit for about 15 minutes and it works. Whenever the skybell button is pressed, the mechanical doorbell rings.

Have had SkyBell HD since released, wonderful device. Contractor cut and removed our powering door chime, rolled up the wire and tossed it. No power to SkyBell! Ordered Ohmkat to replace it, arrived next day, directions were crystal clear! Removed the SkyBell, ran the new wires as directed, booted right up and returned to functional. Saved me big bucks and pain of electrician fixing! It was so easy and quick will be back for another to do my backdoor. Outstanding product, glad you made it, thanks!👍

I don’t think this is a great quality doorbell camera waste of money stopped working second day fortunately my security company came an fixed it but so not pleased with the quality of the doorbell camera

When I received the Skybell HD and read the instructions, I found that was needed a doorbell transformer and a 10 ohm 10 W resistor wire wound or I could cause a damage to my new device. So looking for those things, I found on Amazon the solution with "OhmKat Video Doorbell Power Supply - Compatible with Skybell HD - Needs No Existing Wiring - Transformer, Adapter, Power Kit & Supply All In One". Connected to power source and ready to use my new Skybell HD. Thanks Ohmkat, it's working great!

Perfect instructions and super easy to wire up! I have an old home with no doorbell, let alone power wired for one and this was just what I needed! Difficulty is only limited to how you choose to mount and wire your unit, not anything due to the power supply itself. This is just what I needed!

Item works AMAZING! Been running for a week constantly and is AMAZING! If you cannot afford to do the professional installation of the transformer, this solution is a quick solution. My current doorbell at my home was not supplying enough power voltage for the SkyBell HD (flashing double red LED). So I got this power supply and works flawlessly. The only con I can say about it is that you will have to install cable bases (low volt staples) to clean up the installation. Thankfully, my power outlet box at my house had a lockbox on it to secure the PS from tampering. But this product works AMAZING for my SkyBell HD.

This worked well for my situation since I had no existing doorbell. It is essential since my new video doorbell requires a voltage transformer. Ultimately, I'll end up installing a traditional doorbell chime and running the wire with a regular transformer so that I can also have a chime. So this is a temporary fix. The one minor con is that the transformer portion that plugs into a wall socket is rather large. Since I was installing this in my garage next to the garage door runners, it made for a tight fit. But otherwise, it works perfectly and appears to be well made.
