Best External for Media
I've used every drive possible to manage my files.This drive from Sony is the best. The bumpers make for a good buffer when you want to stack your drives.I keep music production samples on 1, sports audio bites on another, and finally music on a third drive. They're always reliable with a fast mount on MAC or PC (coming from a Lacie Rugged that was reliable but took forever to mount when you wrote files from a PC and booted onto a mac and vice versa).

Both Thunderbolt and USB 3 connections were 130 Mbs...........
Is this Thunderbolt (10Gbs) or Thunderbolt 2 (20Gbs)...not sure but USB 3.0 connection was the same speed, 130 Mbs.Thunderbolt should be twice as fast and Thunderbolt 2 should be 4 times as fast. I think this HDD is a straight USB 3.0 device.
