Believe the hype:)
If you don’t have the cash to keep up with Magic The Gathering or the other TCGs, but still hanker for that ever-changing gameplay, competitiveness and excitement, Ascension is perfect for you!The game came to my attention when a friend told me that its designers included certain MTG greats. Intrigued, I then decided to try it out, first purchasing ‘Chronicle Of The Godslayer’ and then the expansion ‘Return Of The Fallen’.What followed were some truly epic battles, between 2, 3 and 4 friends at a time. Each of which brought its own mix of luck, strategy and card combos, more often breaking into double digits (card draw FTW!)Some criticise Ascension for being ‘light’; I enjoy it for that same exact reason. Its fast, not a massive mind-blender, and can easily be played in a short amount of time, allowing for multiple rounds. Obviously the mechanics begin to stack up as you venture into expansions such as -‘Immortal Heroes’, ‘Storm Of Souls’ and ‘Darkness Unleashed’, but by that point I'm sure you'll welcome the challenge.I could honestly play this game for a full day (mixing in ‘Return Of The Fallen’ for good measure) and remain safe in the knowledge that no two games will be exactly alike; each bringing its own original set of challenges, monsters and in-game twists. Go, see for yourself!

Nice deckbuilder
A nice deckbuilder for 4 players, it's unfortunate that there's not any player interaction, perhaps expansions will improve this.

Great Game for Card Game enthusiasts.
For some reason I could not help but draw parallels between this card game and another one I own called Splendor. As in Splendor here your aim is to acquire a number of "victory points" and to do so by acquiring ever more powerful cards by controlling lower ranked cards that are in turn used as a sort of currency. To be fair this summative description does not do justice to what I personally feel to be a rather solid game which plays pleasantly. What I also like about this game is that it can in be played by more than 2 players which makes it perfect for a games night or similar gathering. There are also a number of expansions which add new twists to the basic game mechanics so if this game turns out to be your "cup of tea" then you can rest assured that there is more to come once you would have mastered this core set.

Best deckbuilding game I have played!
I bought this game after reading a few reviews online about it and I have to say it is a fantastic game.Quick and simple to learn, fairly similar to some other deckbuilding games that I have played in the past and a lot of fun to play.My friend and I often play a number of games of this in a row as it is always good fun and it is hard to get tired of playing it.This game has definitely become one of the go-to games when we meet up for some tabletop gaming.

Top card game.
This is a great card game. I'm 44 and my daughter is 8 and we both get a real kick out of playing it. She wins as often as I do.It's a deck building game similar to Domimion. The players take turns buying cards to strengthen their decks or killing monsters to earn glory points. They collect new cards or gems to represent the glory points they have. It is easy to set up and takes about half an hour to play. It works as well with 2 players as it does with 3 or 4.I've already recommended to my friends and I recommend it to you.

A great light card game - addictive fun
Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer is a highly entertaining light game. It is very easy to teach/learn, great fun and highly addictive. Once you start, you cannot stop! The cards are thick and look durable, but I'd recommend buying 200 ordinary sleeves for them so you'd have them forever. I would recommend this game to both beginners and experienced board/card gamers.

Ascension truly I'd a fabulous deck building game that once you understand how the game runs is exceptionay simple to play with people of all ages. I am normally a devout MTG player but I am more than happy to take a break and play Ascension any time of day :)

Great game, very easy to learn and even quicker to play. Even without any of the expansions I would recommend this game to both experienced card game players, and absolute beginners.
