Sponge stays on stick
These have been fantastic for my ASD son who struggles to clean his teeth due to sensory processing disorder. He uses a silicone mouth sonic brush and tooth paste foam. Then I found some Childrens mouth wash which I use with these mouth swabs to help ensure his mouth is clean. He previously developed an abscess. Since using the swabs his teeth have been much better. It took a few days to get use to the texture of the swab in his mouth. But I knew any change would take a while to adjust. I just let him glide the sponge part on his lips to start. Now he fully uses the swab wet with the mouthwash, across his gums and teeth. It has successfully become part of his routine. I tested the sponges myself too. They are thick and absorb the mouthwash well. Creating a foam. You can bite down hard and they don’t come off the stick. I am so relieved to be using these to help my son. They have made teeth cleaning less stressful for him. I will be buying these again and again

safe to use, with caution
In reply to ‘told by nurses not use’ the facts are; there was sadly a choking incident which caused an official alert throughout healthcare in the UK however, as with most things, used with instruction and knowledge, they are safe. There is no real alternative so top tips are; do not give to a child or confused person, do not allow to be chewed or leave in mouth and do not leave in water or re-use. Follow these basic instructions and there are of huge benefit in moistening the mouth.I have ordered for patient who has copious saliva which can’t be swallowed - brilliant to wipe away excess saliva.Just use with caution!
