It was perfect for what I used it for and the price was excellent.I needed to drill a hole through the house siding and sheet rock wall big enough to pass cables from the outside to the inside of the house.

I drilled three holes in a plum tree stump and that was it the bit would not cut into the wood after that. Maybe these drill bit are designed for softwoods. I am disappointed as this drill bit was sold as a package to work with tree stump granule remover to be poured in the holes so my project is stalled until I locate a new drill bit.

Very good bit. I purchased this to bore out holes in newly cut stumps so I can add stump killer. My first use however was to increase the size of a door lock for a new knob. It's very sharp and chews the material out very well. With 12" in length, it will allow me to get down deep enough to get the chemicals deep in the stump or bore through thick pieces of lumber. I'd be careful about possibly bending this, not sue to poor craftsmanship but because of the length and it being easily bent. I can see ordering couple more of these at different sizes down the road for other applications.

Not sure what the negative reviews were about. This worked fine. I drilled 12 1 inch holes into a large maple tree stump, and it worked fine.

I used this with a Dewalt 14.4v drill. I will change my review if I am using the wrong drill.? I bought this to use on a tree stump (like advertised). It did not even complete a half a hole. I tried it on a really thin crappy wood board, and it couldn't even start a hole.

This is great for boring through and bolting 2 4x4s with 3/8 bolts. I knew from the picture that it didn't have a recess for a quick-change chuck so I put in a small wood lathe and filed one with a rat-tailed file. Now it's perfect.

After a lot of experience with spade bits, I strongly preferred spade bits with spurs. This product was specifically described as having spurs ("Double-cutting spurs scribe the outside of the hole, reducing breakout"). The product delivered is the slant-shoulder model. Unfortunately, I had broken open the package before noticing the error so I'm stuck with it.Very disappointing.

I was going to use this bit for drilling holes and pulling telephone wires, but without the hole to connect the wire, the bit is useless for this purpose. Also it does not have a "Double-cutting spurs scribe the outside of the hole, reducing breakout" as advertised. I guess I'll be sending it back.Photo #1 is the actual bit I received. It's nice to have this long bit for those rare times that you need them. This one is reasonably priced and did a good job for the three holes I had to drill to install a security system.

Good quality. Requires pressure to cut (drill) well, but cuts through 2x4's and floors very well. Stays sharp a long time even after some abuse.
