I'm so happy I stumbled upon this book as it has got me out of my slump! ♥️“𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘱 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘬𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦,” “𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯’𝘵 𝘮𝘶𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘮𝘦. But if you are like me and are looking for something fun and spicy, this is for you! It was a lovely short read between genres, and I ate it up. 🏹You don't need to think too hard and can just enjoy it. 🙌

it was ok
I really enjoyed the premise and idea of this story but sadly it fell flat for me around the halfway point. There were just too many characters for a story of of its length and I kept forgetting who they were and having to skip back and or search.3 stars

Viciously sweet
I loved the premise behind this story, I think the idea of sending your mate letters until you could meet is so sweet, if done right of course. In this case our MMC (Rennick) did not, but then what kind of story would that be… Rennick is aloof and intensely possessive, literal touch her and unalive vibes, and of course he’s light on the details too. So our lovely MFC, Amelia, who is raised in the human realm, has no way to believe what she is receiving, nor understand what it means to be his mate or the way of the fae. The character development is good, the story is good and there are a few twists that keep it interesting, although I do think the ending was rushed and a couple of unresolved plot points. It’s a good book, one for a rainy day or a short interlude between something heavier.

An okay read
This was okay. I liked the idea of this book, lovers across borders communicating with themselves and developing their love. However, the writing felt like it was everywhere and nowhere at the same time. I was going to give it a solid 3.5, but towards the end, I got tired. It had the capacity to be great. Maybe if it was a bit longer, it would have been better. But it felt like a lot was crammed into this 200+ paged book. The characters were a bit meh for me, even the supposed morally black fae king.I don't think I would continue this series as i found it lacking, but if anyone is interested in a short read, maybe try this one, and you might like it.

Quick read with a likeable but underdeveloped feel to it.
Main Tropes/Features: 3rd person narrative, Fated Mates, Fae, Royalty, Possessive hero, Jealous MCsSecondary Tropes/Features: Virgin hero, Morally grey MCs, OW & OM dramaTriggers: There are multiple potentional triggers in this book. If you are someone who needs to research these then do so before reading.Rennick and Ameilia’s story was a quick read with a likeable but underdeveloped feel to it.I found both Rennick and Amelia to have some likeable qualities and there were certainly moments between them that were sweet which provided a balance to the questionable morally grey (or black as described by the author) choices and actions they made. The third person narrative didn't disengage me from the plot or cause a lessened interest and I liked how the story was told in two parts - the former focusing on building their connection and/or obsession despite not meeting in person and the latter where we saw their relationship develop when they were together. The author mentions in a note at the beginning of the book that this has no overarching background plot which is something that I was fine with going into the book - I was prepared not to take this too seriously. However, with the additional rudimentary development of side characters and drama brought into the plot it didn’t end up working for me. The other man and other woman drama seemed juvenile as I didn’t find it to have the impact I think was intended and there was unexpected twists, revelations, and hints of future storylines involving secondary characters near the end of the book which seemed out of place and certainly underdeveloped due to their big impacts but minimal page time. This turned out to be an okay read for me and whilst there was an overall likeable feel to the book it isn’t one that worked for me. I don’t regret the two hours I spent reading this but at this time I have no interest in seeking more.
