Genie: A Burlesque Romance

You know you're enjoying a book when you're so immersed you feel the emotions of the character's as they happen. I knew it with this book when at a certain point I actually burst into tears! That doesn't happen to me often, even when I love a story but the lives of Abel and Genie before they met had a real impact on me. Their chemistry was explosive but there were also moments I had to stop myself from laughing out loud on the train as I read. So many emotions, a really great story. If you loved Kitty's Lucien Knight trilogy you'll love this. If you haven't discovered it yet and you like your male leads with a bit more depth than the stereotypical alpha billionaire play boy then you'll love Kitty. Can't wait for her next one!

I absolutely LOVE Kitty French books and this was no exception.Yet again the author grabbed me pinned me down and preceded to lay a heavy weight on my chest whilst battering my brain cells with this fabulous story !!Just like burlesque caberet will tease your eyes this is so well written it will tease your senses and bring out your inner voyeurism for certain. Through her wording Kitty will conjure perfect images in your mind to make you believe your there.I felt I was on ride and a journey with these characters and I just didn't want to get off the train at all.This story has it all....., there's passion a plenty, sexual tension, angst, emotional turmoil, deceit and so much more. I literally could not put this book down and apart from the necessity of doing the school run to pick the children up, I read right through in a day.An amazing read and one I 100% recommend !!

Oh I just loved this from beginning to end!!!I had previously read Kitty French's Knight and Play trilogy, so knew she was a talented author. However this totally grabbed from page one. What a beautiful story. I fell in love with Genie and Abel, I felt for them through their fights and loves and emotions. I cried bucket loads over the last few chapters, but smiled a lot too.Genie is an exotic Burlesque dancer in her Uncle's run down theater, which is her home and she loves. Abel is the business man who wants to acquire the theater to be the next in his line of fitness centers, but he has other reasons for wanting to acquire the theater. They battle with each other, love each other both too stubborn to give in. Their story unfolds.It is a brilliant love story, now one of my favourites. It is a standalone story which I could not put down. I highly recommend it.

I've had this book loaded to my kindle for a long time and as I've bought more and more books it sunk further away from my to-read list. Today I was scanning and came across it again and almost went for something else but I'm really glad I didn't. I thought the story would be predictable but it wasn't. The burlesque elements were really well done and added to the overall feel of the book. I loved how Genie never took any of Abel's hang ups as her own and continued to be her own person. She never changed who she was for him which was refreshing to see. Altogether this book was saucy, sultry and unexpectedly emotional. Great epilogue too. Recommend.

i adore kitty french and always one click her books. However, i was a little confused at the start of this and not quite sure of the time the story was set in.... it took me a few chapters to get into it but once i did, kitty did not disappoint.I LOVED Genie.... she is a fabulous character and her battle with doing the right thing and doing anything to keep her dream alive kept me cheering her on all the way.A brilliant standalone and recommended :)

What an interesting book and storyline. Two people , from the same background and City. One a dancer, with a heart of gold, even though life has been a little cruel, but she has so much love for her " new" family. One who had a heart that's cold, a business man through and through, but both fall in love. One who rejoices, one who rejects. A theatre crumbling, but a comfort blanket for one, the other the prospect of an over seas investment. A wonderful book, by a wonderful author. Once started very difficult to put down. United Kingdom takes on a whole new meaning.

Pleased to see Kitty French back to writing and better than before with this story of Genie and Abel. Genie who is a burlesque dancer is trying to save her family theatre and Abel is trying to buy it. Of course it transpires that Abel has hidden baggage but the instant chemistry between the pair keeps them both coming back for more. An enjoyable if not totally original storyline but most enjoyable and hard to put down.Welcome back Kitty keep up the good work I await your next offering.
