From a experienced ham radio operator...
I have been a avid radio operator since the way early 70's...I've had my ham radio ticket since the early 90s...I have a truckload of quality communication gear...It takes a lot to impress me twice in a row...I purchased a Radioddity G90 about two years ago to use portable... I could not be happier with it... Great little first HF or portable "qrp" (20 watts) rig...That said...I decided to give Radioddity a chance to defend their title...I heard about the QT80 from my local radio needs and decided to give it a try...My ham privileges and my fondness for 11 meters, made this a practical selection...This radio is the same chassis as a Anytone 6666 pro... but...My experience with Radioddity's customer service sealed the deal for me and I did not hesitate to stick with their support team...The QT 80 is hands down one of the best performing radios that I own, now...I have Yeasu, Alinco, and President radios to compare it with so, that is a tough team to beat...For filtering, options like variable power, 100 watts SSB FM and AM, Memory and offsets for working 10 meter repeaters, this is a hard yes...You can spend more money but I don't think that you will get a better value for your dollar...My advice is, stop looking and buy it...YouTube is your friend for easy instruction...Buy it...73

radioddity qt80
I received this transceiver along with the radioddity CBL – 561 antenna. Everything is hooked up properly and the radio comes on it shows SWR 1.2. however, there’s nothing but static and it does not pick up a thing. I’ve tuned through all the frequencies and it does not receive anything but static. Very disappointed in this purchase.

receives great...better than qt60
using an old h7000 discone antenna i listened in on three hams talking together on 3 different continentsfrance, india and san diego. and im in cental maine...compared to my qt60 the qt80 is somewhat better but i miss not having swr meter check built in..they were running much larger antennas with 800 and 1200watt amps..Im Only a hobby level(mostly listen) with the grandkids and this radio works well for the occasional ham meet on a borrowed antenna feed and at home for local hams 60 to 200 miles with my discone..maybe try a center feed antenna in the warmer weather..only drawback is not alot of room around antenna plug because of heatsink
