It’s a lovely rod. The graphite blank feels really strong and is pleasing to touch. All the hardware looks and feels robust and everything you would expect to be there is there. It has a hook retainer and dense EVA foam handles. I really love the metallic green highlights; it gives the whole thing a classy and sporty look. The reel seat is plastic but it's high quality, dense plastic with a gloss finish and ergonomic shape. Everything is tight and well-engineered, there is nothing rattling around here. It's 5.6ft and has 6 rings. It could do with one more to reduce the angle between rings in the line however it’s not a major drawback.The reel is pretty good too. Like the rod, it's not top end but it is well built, runs smoothly and even comes with line already loaded and a clip on the end which does run through all of the rings. The clutch is satisfyingly clicky and, as found only on better quality reels, this has instant anti-reverse meaning no delay when striking and a better chance of setting the hook. It feels reassuringly tight. The only thing I am not that sold on with the reel is the click out handle. It relies on a sprung button to lock and release and I just think that if this unserviceable part fails then that would be the end of the reel.If you just want to do a bit of spinning for predators then this set is ready to go. It includes a number of spinners and soft lures which are perfectly adequate for pier fishing or perhaps spinning an estuary for Mullet and Bass.This is a really great little set and perfect for keeping in the car or for travelling. The innovative "tent pole" like construction with the elastic through the middle is a real game changer, this is the quickest to put together multi part travel rod I have every used. It's very pleasing with minimum frustration during set up.I genuinely like this rod, it is very well made, functions well and looks good. The price may seem a little high, however, when you look at other multi part travel rod and reel combos in the same market place you see that actually it’s probably about right.

Over the years I've used various telescopic rods - mainly for fun fishing on days out.I have to say this is one of the best little sets I have come accross. It is really well thought out and very practical to use.The spinners and spoons and plastic worms can be effective but I have also added some floats so I can go trotting in the New Forest streams.The graphite carbon rod is easy to assemble - it's all elasticated just flick the rod , line up the arrows on the rod and it's ready to have the line threaded through the eyes.The reel is very smooth and comes prespooled with 8lb line, it can also be setup to be left or right handed wind, just unscrew the cap, remove the handle and fix it to the other side.There are other little clever things on the rodlike the little clip to attach a hooked line to so it's ready to go when I find somewhere interesting to try.Fully assembled the rod and reel have a very good balance and being carbon grphite is very light but also very strong. Whilst I have not caught anything camera worthy yet I am confident that when I do the rod will take the load.When I have finished for the day it is easy to pack up and carry home in it's bag. there is plenty of space in the bag for extra things such as a fish disgorger.I will be taking this on holiday with me as it is so light and easy to carry, so a few hours fishing in the sun is definitely on the cards.Overall this is an excellent kit, containing a quality rod and reel.
