Q: What is the difference between the red room country home and the luxury townhouse gift sets? The houses look very similar.

The Luxury Townhouse is the older version of the Red Roof Country Home; that's all. The newer version has some small differences and it can be connected to the Cozy Cottage starter home for a larger house. I believe the Luxury Townhouse can be connected to the older version of the starter home but I don't know if it's compatible with the newer version. Also, the Luxury Townhouse might not be in production anymore but I can't be certain.

Not much difference. The red roof country home can be 3 stories because you can remove one floor or add the cozy cottage. Both have a balcony, working lights, extra floor to extend a room.

Q: Do instructions come with the country home to connect to the cozy cottage

Instructions are not necessary as the new coy cottage "connects" by removing the small section ( seen on the left in the picture) and placing the new cozy cottage there. The roof ( seen on the right in the picture) is lift off and the small section can be place there to make a three story house. No screws or hammers or heavy duty assembly required just swapping of sections to make the house into a three story house. The house should come with a picture book and should be the same as seen on Amazon.
