Could I do a parallel connection with my car’s fog light wire for power instead of getting power from the 12V battery?

That really depends on if you are replacing the cars fog lights or trying to add these to work with you you current light lights as well essentially having 4 fog lights on at the same time. The LED Lights draw less power but sometimes it can cause a fuse to blow if you try to run all 4 lights off the same fuse. You could try I guess, at least you would know what the problem is. These lights are BRIGHT. To answer the question, YES you would be able to splice into your cars fog light wire set up to run these lights.

How long are the cables?

I didn’t measure the cables. I bought a set of harness and switch to complete the installation on KLR650. As I remember, it was rather short. Maybe between 3-4 ft long. Sorry couldn’t help you more.
