Campbell Biology 9th Edition

This is a great biology textbook! I absolutely love the diagrams and how in depth the authors go into topics. Not only do they give you diagrams of cells but they also have rare pictures of organelles that other textbooks cannot provide. I needed this book for my cell biology class and it was shipped on time and came with an eText Access Card which will be used to its full advantage. I will be keeping this book for future references!

All my other textbooks were in pristine condition. However this text book was great to study with and I learned a lot more then what my professor had skipped out on or didn't go into great detail with. The only problem and surprise I received was the packing in which it came in. As I was studying for my Biology 2 Final and went to look up a vocabulary word or answer to the "Test Your Understanding" questions...it was their that 3/4th's of the Appendix A Section of the text was halfway torn along with a few pages of the glossary as well as watermarked and crinkled on a few pages too. I usually have no issues when ordering anything of Amazon and was shocked with the way this one order had turned out.

I am a broke college student but since my college required this book, I was glad to find it at least $60 cheaper than in our bookstore here. According to my professor, we will use it for 2 courses so I might as well buy the whole thing than rent. It also comes with the code already and I am happy. The packaging is vacuumed sealed and delivered a day earlier than expected. I would recommend a bigger binder since it is pretty thick. Just a heads up, this one doesn't come with the study guide. It's just the book and the mastering biology code. I will update my feedback on the content later on.UPDATE 4/24/2013The semester is almost over so I am going to put my feedback. I honestly did not use the book as much because our professor summarized everything. HOWEVER, I do love the Masteringbiology online. The activities, the quizzes, the clips and videos have been very helpful. Maybe because I am a visual learner that's why I appreciate it more. I sort of regret buying the book. How I wish I just brought the mastering online. Oh well.

This book ok as a reference but I didn't care much for it as a primary text. It is also too expensive. I eventually dropped the class and now that I'm getting ready to take it again this edition of the book is no longer being used. I don't mind that the university is no longer using this book though. The questions that the instructor asked on the first quiz were ridiculously difficult and she expected us to do 100 of them in 1 hour. I later found out from the instructor that those questions were taken from the quiz bank that comes with the instructor's edition of this textbook. I would not recommend any class that uses this book. The author's questions make biology seem much harder than it actually is.

Great resource and good for reinforcing missed lecture topics from your notes. Excelent condition for a used book and older edition, but you can use any edition of this textbook as the changes from book to book are very slight. Keep in mind: Heavy book! Keep in lab locker/home when possible.

I am so happy, first amazon messed up an order before this one so I was little hectic to order this book. For one I got it WAY MORE CHEAPER than any other place, and also it came the NEXT DAY!!! They helped me by tracking the book very well all the way till it reached my residence hall. It also came with the code for amstering biology. SO for those of you who pay $200 you paid way to much!!!

I bought the book and the access code card that came with it. I was pleased with the packaging when my item arrived and everything was in good condition. However, I got a rude shock when I opened my access code card only to find missing letters on it so that means I cannot access the mastering biology site and I will not be able to do my homework. There was no contact information to enable me contact the seller and inform them of the situation. The only solution was to send out an e-mail to the publisher but I have not received any feedback. Now this means I have to spend $90 more to purchase an access code and I am not a very happy person right now. I am very unsatisfied with my purchase and this will be my last text book purchase here.

Bought this book for a little more or less than $100 a few years back for college and it was only after the semester had ended that I figured out that I had taken the wrong class >.< So wrong class and didn't even need this book or the one I got for the accompanying lab course that came with this lecture course. The book served it's purpose and afterwards I just used it and another book I got for college as a stand for my laptop so it wouldn't overheat. I tried to sell it back to the campus bookstore only for them to tell me that the new edition of this book had just come out a few days prior so they'd only give me $5 for it. So technically a waste of time and money. Cool.
