The author is very creative and vivid in her usage of animals in her story telling. This book reminds me of the children’s stories that my grandmother use to read to me when I was a child. Some good life lessons that children will learn from this book are 1) on how important it is to relate to others and be understanding to their different perspectives (making friends), 2) respecting someone else’s territory, 3) and not being ashamed that you are different than others--which can be a beautiful thing.I particularly enjoyed reading about the butterfly and grasshopper story: A short story about enjoying life because of the brevity of it, and that your own personal enjoyment of life will cause others to admire you and resonate with you, when you least expect it.I highly recommended read for those who enjoy reading children’s stories for themselves and reading them to children.

I thought this a was a very clean and beautiful collection of animal takes who had collected these many stories in his magical forest where many different animals live and shared their takes of awe with old owl. For these reasons of many beautiful tales and pretty small images I wish to recommend it for five sari and for the very small kids as a bedtime tales for each bedtime.I received this for free and in return, here is my honest reviewlGreat job Alice! Bedtime stories: Old Owl's Fairy tales by alice CuslerColorful children's stories about animals. They search for the answers that they have been wondering about: how why I have stripes, why do I have spots, why am I called a snow bunny.Butterfly Dance I thought was the best. Other works by the author are highlighted at the end.

Loved the images in the book. I think the author must have used vector graphics as the images scaled well on my smartphone. The stories were cute but I think more suited to younger readers than 8 year olds. The book should keep the interest of the younger reader. It is the kind of book that can be an excellent shared reading experience when the child is learning to read. Overall a good book as a bedtime reader for the kids.

Alice Cussler, you deserve 5 stars for creating such a wonderful book of short bedtime stories. The illustrations for each story are just delightful and the stories are a great way introduce the little ones of the need to respect and care for animals.My grandson particularly enjoyed the story about the baby zebra and the horsefly, and the pink pony story thrilled my little granddaughter. She just loved that story, and I have a feeling I will be reading from Bedtime Stories Old Owl's Fairy Tales for many, many times.Terrific book, with enchanting illustrations. I can't recommend it highly enough.

This book is geared for older children who can get the point of each of the stories. I think one thing that I like about the story book is that the stories teach a moral lesson of some sort. It's a fun book to read with my grandkids and then spend some time discussing what the stories meant and how the lesson can be applied in their own lives. A nice little read!

I've bought this book to read to my twins and they loved it and so did I! I'm also going to purchase the other author's Animals Books Collection for Children. The book is a collection of short stories and full of beautiful pictures. It's about friendship, life lessons and insights into the life of each different animals in the book. I recommend it for parents who enjoy reading bedtime stories for their children as well as help them to learn how to read. Fun book to read to your children!

I’ve just read another great book to my six-year old by this author. This one Bedtime Stories! Old Owl's Fairy Tales for Children: Short Stories Picture Book for Kids about Magical Forest Animals (Bedtime Stories for Kids, Early Readers Books for Ages 4-8) by Alice Cussler is also packed full of incredible (really polished professional) and endering illustrations. These books are so well done. My son loves them and I plan on getting them all. Highly recommended, five stars.

I love Alice Cussler's childrens books. The outstanding illustrations, which always match the stories, really make the messages come to life. Kids are intuitively smart and the little ones get the lesson, even if they don't know that they do! This collection is beautiful to read and to look at, even on a black and white Kindle, but it's absolutely stunning on a tablet! Highly, highly recommended!

Delightful Illustrations and a nice collection of bedtime stories for kids. I am not a native US English speaker, so I may be misjudging the language, but to me there are occasional lapses into adult words and phrases. Since this book is also offered as a Early Reader, I have grudgingly downgraded it to 4 stars. I may be wrong.

Once is a while you pick up a children's story book and it fills you with joy. This, for me, was one of those books. The stories are short and cute with illustrations to die for. More Shrek than Disney, which suited me and my kids just fine.

This is a wonderful story picture book for young children. Kids will love meeting and learning about all the magic forest animals in this short story. Lovely colourful pictures accompany the story.

My little girl loved the cover on this book as we browsed amazon so i had to get it for her. so far, she has really enjoyed me reading the stories to her. I will be looking for more books from Alice. thank you.
