I did not get the idea from the pics and description on Amazon, but this thing is huge. It looks like a man's watch. I bought the gold and silver tone as I buy jewelry that way - if I like a piece I don't care what the metal is. It's sturdy. The date is shown in a magnified bubble, so to look at it you have to turn your wrist a little so you're looking directly down into the bubble. I'm a nurse so this watch is around water all the time, no problems whatsoever. I also bang it around a lot while doing things - no problems whatsoever. It's a brand name. If you're looking for a fairly easy to see, durable, fine looking (dress up or every day wear) watch this is a lot of bang for the buck

UPDATE: APR 24, 2019 After getting used to this watch I absolutely fell in love with it. The watch was small enough to wear for dress occasions (I'm 5'7" so size is relative), and sporty enough for everyday wear. I've worn it almost daily for 2-1/2 years and the gold-tone is just now starting to fade and the battery needs replacing. I'm looking for a new watch, but seriously, I'm thinking of purchasing this same one; it is that timeless.This is nice but, honestly, it is not the size of a Rolex as one commenter said. It is much bigger and heavier but it is trendy without being overly so. It does make a nice boyfriend style watch keeping in mind that I am on the large boned size. I had my jeweler take out one link that made the bracelet the proper length for me to give me that below the wrist bracelet style and when it is up above my wrist bone there is enough room to get my fingers between my wrist and the band, again giving the trendy boyfriend look.Now, all that being said, the gold one that I purchased, while being a bit more trendy than I desired, has a very classic, elegant look to it and I find that I don't mind the trendy. It is great for daytime and informal nighttime but I wouldn't wear it to a formal occasion, too big and gaudy for that.
