Celestaire Astra IIIB with Traditional Mirror

(UPDATED 19 Aug 2013)I noticed that my review (the 1st review has now been edited out) of the Astra IIIb Sextant has been associated with one being sold by Maryland Nautical with Amazon.com having it listed under 'Books'.I was surprised at the price shown (it seemed very much higher than I remembered) so I went to the Celestaire Web Site to see if they had suddenly raised it but it hadn't changed. I called Celestaire and the man there was puzzled.Before you plunk down $ 795.99 (the price shown on the Amazon listing as I write this) go check the Celestaire Web Site.

For navigation. This is amazing. To know where you are in the ocean, using the planets, star and the sun as reference.

As a merchant mariner and professor of navigation, I have used this sextant since 2007 all over the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. It rarely needs any error corrections and works as well now as it did when new.
