Can you steam sterilize any part of this?

The part that goes in the nose and the part that catches the snot could be sterilized. It’s honestly just easier to wash with soapy hot water.

Would Nosefrida filters work with this?

Yes they do work with this. Same size.

No, it is long enough that you don't have to be nose to nose with your kid. I used this until my kids turned 8 or so...
