Great for light boots and shoes
Durable and easy to wear on smaller boots. These puppies have great grip and design for light winter and hiking boots.

A lifesaver in our 6 months snow on the ground area
Ice on streets is inevitable no matter what one does here, lot of snow during winter, sun hits it, and boom, there is ice where there was none an hour ago. So these spiky shoe pull-ons are regular part of my equipment. The over the toe piece prevents 99% of chance of loosing one of them.If you have never used these straight spikes important to remember not to step forward with long stepsinside on tiles, and in shopping malls. It will likely make your foot slip. With that in mind, unlike spiralice pull ons these don't catch on and do not rip carpets.

The studs are durable
Unlike other brands that cost less and have more studs, these studs are tungsten carbide and are long-lived. Walking in a city or suburban area involves walking on pavement and stainless steel studs wear away quickly, unlike these. The webbing seems intelligently engineered in that it doesn't seem to suffer from direct contact with pavement, at least compared to other studded traction devices I've used in the past. I only started wearing these toward the end of our winter, so maybe with more use webbing (and stud) wear would have been more evident. But as a first approximation, I'd say these are superior to most other traction devices in terms of wear. I never had any problem with them staying on my shoes.

Get a Grip Size Large/XL
Just received my ice cleats today and raining out so no chance yet to wear outside on snow and ice. I’m in my sixties so I don’t like struggling to put on. I placed on my size 8 women’s waterproof boots. They went on nicely without much stress! I too am glad I read the reviews to order UP on size. I wear a size 8 shoe and chart says to order Small/ Medium which I positively know would have been impossible for me to stretch on over my boots. Appears to be a good product and confused my Amazon on my orders placed says Due North so reason I give it a 4 rating plus the sizing issue. A bit pricey but not in comparison to a broken wrist or arm. I’m happy with purchase.

Not the improvement I hoped for
Wanted to like these more since I am a big fan of the original everyday Due North traction aids. I was hoping the enclosure for the toe would make installation a one handed operation but not quite. Also the rubber material is thicker than the everyday version but that means the spikes don’t extend as far down so they are somewhat less effective.

SAFE AND EFFECTIVE
So glad I paid attention to other comments and bought an extra large size even though I wear a size 6. Have designated one pair of shoes that have the spikes attached so I don't have to wrestle with putting it on and off. Much easier and certainly effective in walking through Cleveland's ice and snow with my dog.
