The clarity of the optics is superb
I own three of these with one as a back-up should i lose it and the second for another home. This is my go to when I am evaluating coins. The price is high but if you are buying expensive coins, this is truly a small investment to make.

Excellent Eye Loupe
This is an expensive but high quality eye loupe. Unfortunately I see current sellers price is $60 higher than when I bought it. I'm usually willing to pay more money if the item is good quality. Both lenses focus sharp and are free of chromatic distortion from the center of the lens to the edges, individually and when used together. The lenses are defect free and well-polished.The housing is made from a glass filled plastic (glass filled polycarbonate?) which provides for better strength, stiffness, and dimensional stability. The lenses snap into the housing with a light detent. When open, the lens holders move with a light friction with no irritating squeaking. My only recommendation to the manufacture would be to include a good nylon lanyard and lens cleaning cloth.

State of the art for loupes
This is a state of the art loupe and is strongly recommended for anyone who needs close magnification for smaller items.

Well worth the cost.
I did not buy it here but we use them at work to inspect other optics for damage/imperfections/contamination. I work with some of the highest quality optics made and we use these to inspect by eye. We use much higher tech instruments for final inspections and such but I have always been impressed by these things to find issues and have been in the business for 20 years. We also use them for microelectronic inspections and they are awesome. Expensive? Yes, but money well spent. Be well. RB.
