Product Description Transform your pool or spa into an oasis of mineral spring-like water and save dramatically on your chlorine expenses. Mineral Pure uses safe and natural minerals to help purify your water, thus dramatically reducing the need for costly chlorine. Chlorine is strong bleach and is dangerous. Studies have linked it to cancer. The bottom line is - nobody likes chlorine. There are nine (9) models to handle any size swimming pool up to 600,000 gal. The technology used by the mineral pure system has been around for thousands of years. It was NASA that harnessed what nature already knew and used a similar ionization system aboard the Apollo flights in the 1960s. NASA granted the manufacturer of mineral pure a license to commercialize their technology in 1989. The system consists of a micro-processor control box and a set of a scientifically developed electrodes comprised of safe and natural minerals. Mineral ions are released into the water, helping to disinfect the water. Salt generators actually make chlorine and are subject to costly repairs and replacement. This system only requires the replacement of the electrode (approximately $150) and does not require salt. The electrodes will last 1-6 years depending on size of pool and length of season. All mineral pure models featured here are NSF certified for use on residential and commercial pools worldwide. Pool water that doesn't irritate your eyes or your skin.
Easy to install and very effective. You do still need to add chlorine to your pool as a sanitizer but in substantially lower quantities. Reduces chemical usage and maintenance time. I love how clear the water is and how soft it feels on your skin.

FANTASTIC!
I have a large inground pool in Southern Arizona and have to say I was pretty skeptical when I bought this, but bought it anyway. I have to say, I was NOT disappointed! This conditioning system has made my pool look fabulous and it's so clean and chemical free you can actually drink the water if you had to. There's no chemical, chlorine smell or feel to the water that so many pools have. We do add a bag of shock to the water once about every two weeks at the most (and that's mostly because we have dust storms that blow through and it take the particulate to the bottom so the cleaner and pick it up) We have had our system on the pool about a year now and my husband and I can't believe just how nice the pool looks and feels. Like swimming in a bottle of filtered clean water. No eye burning from chlorine! Was one of the best purchases we've ever made.

Listed as New with not original packaging But it was USED!
Can't believe Someone would list this as New😳 Had an Electrician install it only to find it had been used! Wouldn't work until Electrician found the fuse inside was Blown. Still waiting on new fuses. One of the test kit bottles was open as well as missing parts! I hope this fuse works or im out some serious cash for the install🤬

Some where helpful advice.
I purchased a R-40 at the start of last summer and replaced my filter to a sand filter. The pool was great all summer and it stayed clear this winter( I live in Florida so that’s not long). This summer I have not been able to keep the green out of the pool and when I clean my cell it is full of rusty water and the ionizers are covered in rust colored scale. After cleaning it with vinegar it seemed to work a while but the green came back in three days. All my test are in balance and still it is not working properly and if you purchase this unit online the company will not product support it, so stated on their website. So I’m going back to a salt system and staying with it. I’m too old for this.

Just did not do anything, still used same amount ...
Just did not do anything, still used same amount of chorine, had same amount of algae, still had to shock, treat with algaecide, etc, It raised the copper level, but it did nothing. My water is crystal clear with my current method of treatments, I was looking to use less chlorine as that is what I understand is the purpose of this unit. It did not work.

Works for me in Florida -- REVISED
I bought my R-40 from another supplier that had a sale at the time. I bought it in Aug 2015. I live in St Petersburg FL and it was very hot here at the time and the weather has broken heat records right through into Dec. Why do I bring this up? Algae. It loves to grow in a warm pool. I use no chlorine except an occasional shock with calcium hypochlorite. Since using the R-40 in my 16,000 gal swimming pool, I have had almost no algae. I did get a little at the beginning of using the device, but I was still experimenting with the settings. Also, if we get a big rain or anything that makes a large change in pH can also set off the algae -- so I try to get the pH balance ASAP to avoid any algae growth. A few additional things to know about my pool: (1) Leaves continually fall into it. So much so that I used to have to clean the skimmer three times a day and even then it would clog. My yard has many trees and bushes so I get a lot of organic debris in the pool (2) I structure the water with my own invention. (3) I have 100 ppm borates from about 30 boxes of Borax. About the only pool maintenance I do is check pH and total alkalinity levels and adjust. I usually have to add about 3 cups HCL every two weeks and brush the stairs off. I do use a Polaris pool cleaner -- once I got the water pressure dialed in, it has cleaned flawlessly ever since. (I like the :Polaris because it vacuums large leaves like schefflera and the tiny ones too.) (4) I shock the pool with one or two bags of calcium hypochlorite once a month at night in the winter and once every two weeks in the summer IF the pool is not crystal clear. Otherwise I just leave it alone. (5) The pump runs 12 hr a day. (6) I keep the copper at between about 0.4 ppm. 0.2 did not keep the algae at bay.Lastly, I have measured the bacteria in the pool with the use of "Watersafe Rapid Bacteria Pool Water Test 10-Pack" I got it on Amazon. No positive test has shown up. So I call this product a huge success. My next addition will be to use auto-fed CO2 to keep the pH balanced. That will reduce my involvement one more big step -- I hate maintaining a pool! Right now I am about to swap out the single speed pump for a much more efficient variable frequency permanent magnet pump. (These have a high initial cost but reduce ruining costs greatly.)Give the MineralPure time to bring the ppm of copper and silver up to a level that will keep the pool clear and keep your pH in the correct range (7.6 - 7.2). DO NOT let your pH slip out of bounds or the metals will eventually precipitate out of the water and deposit on your pool. Do this too many times and you will get metal discoloration. So just keep the pH stable. Keeping pH correct and finding the sweet spot for the copper ppm are the big lessons here.Another reviewer here says that the system "does not work," but I must point out that that person gives no details about pH, ppm cooper, bacteria or any other relevant facts about the use of his/her MineralPure. So what does "does not work" mean? What was done to tune it? How long was it left working? What was the starting pH? What levels of copper and silver were achieved?Note that I bought a MineralPure that is good for pools up to 40,000 gal even though mine is only 16,000 gal. When I called MineralPure prior to the purchase they suggested that I go with the larger R-40 vs. the R-20 and I am glad I did. Mostly because I have had to run it on number 4 (out of 5 settings) for the heavy leaf load in my pool. Most of the time I run it at 3 with my pump running 12 hrs.06/03/2016 - I just installed a variable speed pump that I will run 24/7. I will experiment with running the MineralPure at 2.05/22/2019 - This last electrode lasted way too long and one side had about 50% of its electrode and the other side was used up. I called the MineralPure support people and they replaced the circuit board. They were very interested in seeing mine because "we almost never have one go bad. Even old ones." So a GREAT BIG THANK YOU for superior support. I've been running the unit for 4+ years and they didn't bat an eye about fixing the unit. It turns out that they are located only about 20 minutes from my house near a main road I use frequently. So that helped me get it fixed while I chatted with one if the reps who explained their most recent technology to me.As a follow up on the variable speed pump: This is the way to go. It keeps my pool clean by running the pump 24/7 but only at high speed for 3 to 6 hours depending on load and season. It uses less $, is quieter and more flexible due to its ability to be programmed. I do not know if lowering the setting to 2 will work yet because -- as noted -- the circuit board went bad...
