At first taste many will dislike this product, due to the low sodium taste. Most people's taste buds are so used to high sodium. Americans love salt, and we eat a ton of it. We eat so much of it, that according to CNN the FDA is considering limiting salt in food products. Salt adds a lot of flavor and while preserving food, but, it can counter act your heart.You can easily fight the low salt taste by adding pepper, lemon juice, or something else. Just don't add more salt! Of course it'd taste amazing with a handful of salt added to it, but, it defeats the point!Shipping: Amazon shipped me 15 cans of this product with dents all over it. But, it arrived within 30 hours of ordering it, which is impressive. Their packaging for canned foods could be better.Health Valley: They have amazing customer service.Me: I have a very bad heart, and low sodium diets are TOUGH to get into. Walmart, WinCo, Whole Foods, Target, Albertsons, FoodMaxx, Food4Less all in my city has absolutely zero low salt canned item selections. Amazon is my only choice.

This is perfect for what I needed to help get more veggies in my diet. I see some complain about it being bland or tasteless. It's not the manufacturers fault you are addicted to salt like most people are. Adding salt, fats, and sugar to foods makes it more tasty, but also less healthy. With this soup you have the option to add more salt or other spices to your liking. Even Healthy Choice has 830mg salt per can for this type. Healthy Valley has only 36mg. To be healthy you need to make sacrifices. I add a dash of salt and I'm good. Already removed added sugar from my diet years ago. Can's were in near perfect condition for my order of 3 cases.

This soup is wonderful--but the latest order came and every can was dented--some very extensively. Now I am concerned that I won't be able to open all of them, or that the contents will spoil.

My order was for Health Valley Organic Soup, No Salt Added, Lentil, 15 Oz (Pack of 12). The order was placed in August, 2021, and it was delivered in 4 days. As shown in the photos attached to this review, they arrived in perfect condition. The "Best By" date was June 9, 2022. I like this soup because of the "no salt added" feature (20mg Sodium per serving, where 1 serving is about 1/2 can). To make up for the lack of salt I just add various herbs and spices and other low-sodium items). Locally this item had disappeared from store shelves even before the pandemic and so for a time I had to make do with another brand with somewhat higher sodium (even that disappeared from the stores for a while). But I'm happy that I can now order this brand again. Though I'm disappointed that only a few months later, the price has gone up by an outrageous 38%.

There are millions of people that are put on a salt restrictive diet every day whether it be for existing heart disease, diabetes or countless other ailments. Good luck eating out and finding low sodium foods is like being on a scavenger hunt on a daily basis. Sometimes I don't want to cook and just want something warm and soothing without risking my dietary needs. This soup has great taste, texture, everything in a minestrone without that awful salt! Low sodium diets take a bit for your taste buds to adjust; but you won't be sorry. Just season with pepper or other salt free spices of your choice and you won't even miss the salt flavor - let alone your waist band not exploding!

Out of 12 cans, I could only use 2! I would understand if 1 or 2 were damaged, stuff happens but not 10. I ordered because my store stopped carrying and I like low sodium, I have cancer and just got home from surgery. I can't use or send back. Not happy!! They make you put a star.

Health Valley Lentil is my favorite no-salt added soup. I have been eating Health Valley No Salt Lentil Soup for years, but when I moved to Eugene, Oregon it was not available here, so I started buying it by the case from Amazon. I follow a no-salt added diet in order to maintain normal blood pressure without medication. I don't eat meat nor do I add oil to my food. It really helps me out to be able to eat lunch without cooking. I like to microwave a white/Gold potato, cut it up (including skin) and add it to the soup. It makes the soup hold me until dinnertime. I also like to add 4-5 drops of Tabasco Sauce to make it a little spicy. My first case was about 3/4 dented cans, but my review that stated that was rejected by Amazon so never posted. I know for sure it left the factory like that because the case comes in a cardboard holder and is covered in plastic and the dented cans were interior cans. However, I ordered again, and now I have gotten 4-5 cases in a row without dented cans. I just ordered 2 more cases of lentil and 1 case of tomato Health Valley No Salt Added soup so I am willing to buy it myself.
