Great steel target at a decent price.
Steel held up just I expected a quality steel target to do. I am shooting this at 210 meters with wolf .308 and the rounds chip the paint, but do not pit the metal. The target is a bit narrow for open sights at this distance, but that has nothing to do with the quality. I can highly recommend this steel target as long as the manufacturers' guidelines are followed.****UPDATE********Been shooting these for a couple years now and have had no problems whatsoever. I see some reviewers complained about pitting, but they are shooting high power rifles at too close of a distance if that is happening. The plate capacities and distances are clearly listed from the manufacturer so the target isn't the problem if they are pitting. I have shot these at 100 meters with .223, 7.62x39, .308, and 7.62x54R and have only had the very tiniest of dimples in the steel. I have shot the same calibers at 210 meters with no dings at all in the steel. I reverse them from time to time and I don't think I could ever wear this plate out!!! Pistol calibers don't even touch it at any distances. One trick I've learned is when using bolts to mount my swinging targets the bolt heads kept shearing off from the rifle rounds slamming into the steel target and the force pushing it rearward. It would actually pop the bolt heads off. I have since switched to bending 3/8 rebar into s-hooks and hooking one end through the steel and the other through the chain and they last forever unless you score a direct hit. This also makes the height quickly adjustable. I've hit them and gouged 1/2 the diameter out of them an they still work. Also a buck and some change to buy a new length and bend an extra hook as opposed to 3x the price of bolts that shear the head off every third range trip. I buy the foot and half length because its easier to bend, but I can bend the 1 foot lengths also with a piece of gas pipe and my bench vise. these steel targets are worth every penny and I rarely shoot paper anymore except to sight in or fine tune sights and scopes. Buy these steel plates, ad spend a few bucks more to get the 1/2" and I predict you will pass on to your grand kids.

My happy Garand.
I already have a stand, but only a 3/8ths plate. Only good for up to 308. I needed a steel plate that would hold up for my Garand. I sell guns for a living, and have always heard good things about ar500 steel. I have yet to shoot it, but I can tell you it looks great, nicely finished, with a center hole for the stand I already have. It was here in cali from St. Paul, Minnesota in 2 days flat. Amazing. Had the wind settled down a bit I woulda been dingin that thing this weekend, and it would have been here. The rest of my order hasn't even shipped yet. Very very very happy with ar500 so far. I will update the review if I have some problem, but if it still reads like this, I'm still really happy with the thing. Thanks guys!Update: end of 2019, and I can still shoot this target. No dings or defects. Was a great buy... I’d do it all over again, but I don’t have to. Quality product. Many years of fun to come!

Great target. First day out I put 300 5
UpdateStill going strong. I honestly can't say how many pistol rounds have been fired on these targets. (I have 3) well over 15,000. The only pistol to cause a problem is a fn 5.7. It takes very little divots. Was doing training from long gun to sidearm and back. These targets were taking hundreds of 223 from 30ft with no damage. 556 that close does leave a mark but not bad.Tried 308 at 75ft and it didn't do anything other than knock the stand over.I'll be buying more of these targets from this seller.Great target. First day out I put 300 5.56 and 200 762x39 on it and other than the paint being gone it's in great shape. 556 leaves a little divot but I was only at 50yds. I feel like I'll get years out of this. I plan on getting a few more.

Great steel for target practice
Great steel for target practice. I use from .22 to 30-06. My pistol rounds are from 10-50 yds. I use the rifle from 50 to 100 yds. The picture shows 6.5 creedmoor. You see older shots in the layers of paint.

Good, but not Great.
I got the 1/2 plate and am happy, but not completely ecstatic about it. I shot 5.56 out of a 16.5" barrel at ~25 yards and noticed some decent pitting on the target. It is not a deal-breaker for me, given that most of the pitting is 1-2mm deep, but it does mean that I will have to buy another target down the road.Given that the other 10 reviews are glowing, it might be that I had either hot rounds or the steel I got is a little softer than the others. I would still recommend this product to others, just be careful with 5.56!

Good deal in the past.
When this use to be 60 bucks, it was a very very awesome deal. Handles 5.56 and 7.62x39 at 120 feet easy.

Sturdy target that is strong adn should hold up well.
Very sturdy target that has taken a pounding from my my .300 Winchester Magnum at 100 yards and further. It doesn't show much damage (mostly paint loss and a little deflection from the rounds) from the .300 Win Magf as well as ball ammo from the .308 Win, and.223 Rem. It should hold up well for quite some time. even to frequent shooting.
