OTTERBOX DEFENDER SERIES Case and Holster for BlackBerry 9900/9930 Bold Touch Black- Bulk Packaging

This Otterbox is awesome! I dropped my brand new Blackberry Bold touch on the asphalt a week after I bought it, and it was perfectly safe inside the Otterbox, and the Otterbox was undamaged thanks to the rubber outer covering. I work in refinishing, and with other cases the screen would get an overspray coating, but since the screen is inside of the case on the belt clip it is still clean and new. I would absolutely buy this product again in the future.Update to original review: I would absolutely buy this product again without question because of the amazing service at Otterbox. I called the company because I dropped the phone off of my deck onto the concrete pad ten feet below. It broke the side of the plastic case, but my touchscreen Blackberry Bold was unharmed. The company promptly sent me out a replacement free of charge under the warranty without any hassles. I have never worked with a company that is so customer oriented. This product and Otterbox customer service are both amazing.

I have purchased Otterbox products for the past 4-5 years for 6 different phones and 4 iPod products and when the Army issued me a Blackberry 9900 the first thing I did was order an otterbox for it. The hard plastic cover fits great and protects it well but the rubber outside skin does not fit at all!!!!!! It will not go in the holster without it coming apart and most of the time you have to spend a couple minutes putting it back together before you holster it. Otterbox did not engineer this one very well at all!!!! PLEASE RE-DISIGN!!!

overpriced as with all otterbox products, somehow they have convinced us to pay 50.00 for plastic phone cases, but we keep doing it. I had one of these for an older blackberry curve, and it was pretty rugged, it was overpriced too, but they have you over a barrel. This one for my blackberry bold is junk, it fits poorly, comes apart often, is is basically typical chinese quality.

I have used the Otterbox Defender Series cases for Blackberry and iPad. I am secure knowing that my devices are protected without sacrificing usability. Previously I have used the Otterbox Defender for my 9710 and i would have to rate that 5 stars. I've noticed that on the newer models (this item and for my iPad 2), the outer rubber cover does not fit as securely and snugly as the 9700 series versions. Also, I do not use the belt clip on piece, but as has been previously mentioned this is another area that has gone backwards with this item. The previous Otterbox for my 9710 fit in easily, remained secure, and removed easily. This model is very difficult to secure and remove.I also am not fond of the screen protector layover compared to the built in screen on my 9710 otterbox but since the 9900 is a touchscreen I understand. I'm not the best at applying these stickers but Otterbox provides a small plastic device to apply this with no air bubbles.Still, Otterbox offer the best balance of protection and usability with this device and the price on Amazaon is excellent for this product.

Otterbox is notoriously a good product. I have one for my Droid X phone and it has been a lifesaver; dropped it several times and not even a scratch on the screen or dented corners. I bought this one for a friend in Canada for his new Blackberry Bold and he loves it. It even has a belt clip which he said is useful when the weather gets cold out and he can clip it on his jacket for easy access. Highly recommend the Otterbox product line.

Sadly, the reminder to review came at a horrible time for this product. From the beginning, I've been mildy upset that the rubber outer cover did not latch correctly to the hard plastic under-cover. It continues to pull away, causing all sorts of issues with use, storage and placing it within the holster.However, not two days ago the hinge on the holder broke. Clearly, it was not as sturdy as I need it to be for repeated use.I had a Commuter case for my old Curve, and loved it. I wanted to try a more durable case with a holster as I though it would be safer and easer to access. I was wrong. I may just need to look for a commuter case and return to pocket-carrying. That, at least, worked very well for me in the past.

I agree with all the other reviews that this was a poorly designed Otterbox. But I bought it, regardless, because I have six kids, and am always walking on cement, rock etc.In fact, one of my main complaints is they had done away with the keypad protector. However, when I dropped it in our neighborhood pool to 11.5 feet on Friday, I was able to dive down, get it out, and then strip the battery quickly enough that it is fully functional after two days sitting in a bag of rice. I am under no illusion that it was fully protected, but it keptenough water out to make it recoverable. Otterbox... still the cheapest best quality insurance available.

This is my 2nd purchase of this product. The 1st survived 2 years of unbelievable punishment, while preserving the phone, in new condition. In my role as a field service engineer, I crawl around, climb ladders and go places in aerial lifts. All the while, the case is absorbing energy, without restricting my movements.

yes it makes the phone bigger but this is fine with me as the phone is small in my shovel like hands, It has protected my blackberry 3 or 4 locker height drops,I have otterboxes for my other phones and gadgets and swaer by them,the clip on holster works well, I expected it to snap but its fine and has taken the abuse I have given it so farthe rubber does pop out sometimes from the base of the phone when answering a call but its not a big deal and it goes back in ok

It is definitely worth spending the extra money on a case that actually protects your phone. On the down side your phone will attract attention for its size. If you do not use the holster and place the phone (with case) in your pocket, it is a struggle as the rubber will cling to the lining of your clothes.

I bought this for my son and his Blackberry 'body appendage'!!He is very outdoors - and he rates this as excellent - the ability to add the extra protection is what made him want it and he is not disappointed.

Does exactly what it said on the tin! Easy to fit and very strong. The case that fits over the phone is really handy as it has a large clip on the back which looks cumbersome to begin with but its easy to clip to things so turns out to be useful.

I chose this rating bcos of safe and prompt delivery of product! The product was as described online (protection wise)! I strongly recommend this for phones to avoid the daily wear and tear!

It does exactly what I needed, protect my phone. Real sturdy case and is doing a good job broke 2 phones prior to getting this case

Ordered this on the 20th of April, delivered on the 24th!! Seller was FAST!This case is amazing! Nothing will interfere with the phone itself (well, only submerging it will cause an issue).PROS:Multi-contaminant protection, protection from dropping/impacts. This case can take a lickin' and your Blackberry 9900 will keep on tickin', trust me!!CONS:Only 1, bulky! Requires its' own proprietary clip. if the clip gets damaged, look at [...] for an alternative pouch/protective case to use with this product.

The design and build on this product jut don't meet my usual expectations of otter box. I've used the defender and armour series for the iPhone and woul rate those a 5 but this one for the BB isn't designed well. The rubber case keeps coming off the plastic case and the port covering keep opening. It's also already broken after 2 weeks of light use . Wouldn't recommend

Moving on from a Blackberry Curve with an Otterbox Defender case, I acquired the Defender model for my new Bold. Dropping it a few time 3-4 feet high and having it work has proved itself convincingly, However, the skin on the left and right of the keyboard needs some sort of cross bar to hold it in place and stop the peeling off.Wi-Fi reception is weaker with the Otterbox.

The silicone cover didn't fit properly and would get snagged when removing the phone from the holster. Pulled on it too hard and fast and the whole thing stuck, causing the belt clip to snap. OtterBox is sending me a replacement of the entire unit after initially sending me only a replacement silicone sleeve. Warranty process is OK, just double check that your replacement order is everything you need, as mine wasn't at first.

Ich kaufte schon 2 Otterboxen, fuer Blackberry Curve oder fuer das 1. Note von Samsung- beides waren super Boxen und ein super Schutz fuer die Handys. Bei mir sind die Handys durch viel Staub auch extremen handyfeindlichen Umgebungen ausgesetzt.Mit der Box fuer das Bold 9900 bin ich garnicht zufrieden. Es ist keine Schutzfolie mehr vor der Tastatur, die Gummihuelle loest sich staendig ab und das Handy passt schlecht in seine Halterung, bzw. die Gummihuelle zieht sich. Beim Einsetzen staendig vom Plastikcase. Gefaellt mir ueberhaupt nicht.

The seller was very good as this was a warranty replacement item. The Otterbox case, however, is overrated though since the replacement shell has already cracked while wearing it on my belt. The first one I owned snapped and broke at the swivel point on the holster. Nonetheless, the Otterbox is still one of the better options out there when comparing it to it's competition.

Lifesaver for my phone, I tend to be accidentally clumbsy.It's such a shame that otterbox has dropped so many lines of product.
