Good Directions Shotgun Weathervane, Pure Copper

Several years ago, when my wife and I had 5 acres in California, we purchased our first weather vane from Good Directions. It was nearly identical to this one. We lived in a rural community in the mountains and thought that the shotgun weather vane would be a great addition to our shop roof. When it arrived we were immediately impressed with the craftsmanship of the weather vane and it's amazingly accurate resemblance to an actual double barreled shotgun. For several years that weather vane perched dutifully upon our shop roof enduring searing heat in the summer, driving rains and wind in the fall and spring and piling snow in the winter. It's new mirror finish eventually acquired a soft patina which gave it an antiqued look so admired and sought after by copper enthusiasts. Everyone from neighbors to delivery folks admired and commented on that weather vane. When we eventually sold the home, we had intended on taking the weather vane with us. However, the new buyers were so enamored by it, that they insisted it be included in the sale.About 1 1/2 years ago my wife and I realized a long time dream and purchased a bucolic 40 acre cattle ranch in the Idaho panhandle. One of the first buildings we built was a 4,200 sf barn, in the timber, to house our ranching equipment, feed, tack, tools etc...And on the ridge of that barn we added a cupola. We named our place Buckshot Ranch. So, naturally, we needed another shotgun weather vane. And of course we turned to Good Directions once again for our weather vane. When the new vane arrived we were even MORE impressed with the quality and accuracy of the shotgun. Unfortunately, when the vane arrived one of the directional arms was broken. It didn't appear to have occurred during shipping, so I assume it probably was broken unknowingly at the Amazon wharehouse. Rather than send the whole weather vane back, I sent an email to Good Directions apprising them of the damage and requesting a replacement part. Within one day, Sean replied and advised me that a replacement part was on the way immediately (no charge). Within several days the part indeed did arrive at our ranch. This type of quality in product and fantastic customer service is a rare animal in the retail world these days. My wife and I highly recommend Good Directions!

First off, the product itself is very sharp looking (from a far). When I unwrapped the shot gun I was disappointed to see the discolored top. I am keeping it because I assume it will end up weathered like this anyway, but for this price I would have liked something shiny and new.

This looks absolutely AMAZING on the top of our log home. It was a gift for my husband. He is so proud of it, he loves showing it off to everyone that stops by. The craftmanship is worth every penny. If you like this model, you'll love it when you get it. I would feel comfortable buying any weathervane from Good Directions.

I couldn't resist purchasing this piece of art for the garage roof. The quality is terrific.Combination of brass and copper. Looks fantastic and assembly was a snap. I couldn't wait to get it mounted. It moves freely and I couldn't be happier with the look. The neighbor suggested I fix it pointing down the drive but I love it taking aim when the wind shifts. GOOD BUY!
