great, but...
I kick myself for not remembering my high school science. I bought this for an aluminum door in one of my outbuildings. Magnets don't stick to aluminum. Other than that it's a great little curtain rod. I didn't send it back because it was such a cheap item.

I just love it.
It was a great idea. It fits well on my window of our front door. I would buy it again. It was better than having to use tools to use it.

Super quick and easy to set up.
Just perfect for holding a small roll-up curtain on my glass front door.

Do all metal doors have the same level of magnetism?
We are using the Kenney Petite Cafe Magnetic Rod on the window of a back door - just off the kitchen. For safety reasons, I don't allow children in the kitchen. So, that being said, we are happy with our rod. It holds a small lightweight curtain along with another rod (that came with the house when we moved in) that holds the valance. The reason I mention the rod that was here when we moved in is that it appears to be the same rod - so, while the rod I purchased has lasted 5 months, the other one has been up much longer. These last. These hang on the window of the door that we use the most - off the kitchen to the driveway. So, we are entering and exiting the house several times daily and have had no problems with the rods not staying in place. One time, my husband was carrying something & caught the curtain, bringing the rod down. But honestly, had it been a regular rod - I think it would have been damaged and the brackets bent. I'd rather pick up this rod & curtain and place it back over the window - no damage. We have not noticed the magnets being weak as mentioned by other reviewers. Perhaps different doors are made out of different combinations of metal? Like, if a door has more aluminum in it, it would be less magnetic. I guess my suggestion before purchasing this item is try a refrigerator magnet on your door & see if it slides around a lot. If it doesn't, I would think this rod would work well for you. If the magnet slides, I would find a different solution to covering your window - your door is probably made with a combination of metals that are less magnetic. Our rods are holding up well - no bowing or bending, but they are not what I would consider to be 'heavy duty'. They're not flimsy, but I don't think that they would be durable enough to withstand children. We're happy with our purchase and feel that where we have the rods located, they will last for many years. Money well spent. If we had chosen the same rod for our front door (where our kid's curiosity could cause mischief), I think we would have been sorely disappointed.

They work.
The magnets work well, though given a nice hard tug they will fall. I'm happy with them.

Strong magnet, sturdy install
These curtain rods are exactly what we needed for our steel doors. We installed the new doors and did not want to put holes in them. These curtain rods are stylish and the magnets are very strong. There are only two negative things I see in this product. The first is that there was no barrier between the metal/magnet and the surface you are applying the curtain rod to. This way if the rod gets bumped it won't damage the finish on the door. The second thing that could be improved is a bit of research on the manufacturer on the size of standard windows in standard sized doors. These curtain rods barely cover the windows in a standard 32" door. They work perfectly but asthetically it would look better if they were an inch or two longer.

This is great for a metal door!
My kitchen door is metal and its not a simple task to drill a hole and install standard curtain rod hardware - this rod is a GREAT solution! It's a simple installation - took me about 2 minutes to open the pack, put the curtains I purchased separately on the rod, and hang it on the door. . . I have purchased this item twice.Pros: fast install - great price - great for a metal door - easily holds curtains with/without grommet - magnet is strong - rod is lightweight - easy to assemble - curtains can be changed with ease - magnet has not damaged my door in any wayCons: the main con that I have is that the rod itself is not the sturdiest of items - the door I have swings open and the edge of the rod will hit the corner of the wall if swung roughly that said, I have lightly tapped the wall while holding the door open and bent the rod (since this was mostly my fault I'm still giving 4 stars) - I think the rod could be a little more durableDid you find this review helpful? Kinda small and cheap plastic
This is being used on an entry door to a mudroom. Simple to install. Seems like it's going to hold up between door opening and closings but, the material is made of cheap plastic. Wish I had found something a little more substantial.

Little disappointing
One of the magnetic sides isn't as strong which meant one side kept sliding down the door.I had to come up with a creative solution to keep it in place. Next time, I would buy the more expensive option.

Flimsy!!
Flimsy! I opened it and it was half broken. The magnets on the back fell off so I had to super glue them back on. The inside bar is half unwound so there is a rough side of metal sticking out.

White Curtain Rod
Bought this for my steel door window. Works great but it is not a true white, it's more of a cream, which makes the rod look like it's dirty compared to my white door.

Cheap, weak
The magnets are a bit weak, so a long curtain may pull it off door. Certainlyattaching these above a door windor, and slamming the door will probably knock them off. Also, the "finials" (ends) are not glued / attached securely...and may pull off / out easily. Easy to put back together, but now there's 4 pieces trying to hold the curtain up....2 pieces of rod, with 2 ends...Overall, lesser quality than other sets I've owned, and I would not buy these again. In fact, I'll be looking to replace the 4 I have now, once stores re-open from this COVID stuff.
