All kind of recipes.
I do not celebrate the Holiday, but the book with it's foods, etc., is very good. Thank you.

I was hoping for a long more recipes, small paper back.
It's a very small amount of recipes I would recommend getting an actual English cookbook and there are plenty on the market downtown Arby's recipes there's some in here but I actually will rewatch The videos and there's only a few of the items that they actually used on the show. If you're looking for a really over the top recipes it's best to buy a English cookbook or even look at what the royals eat if you're looking for English and high society cooking.

Mrs. Patmore would be pleased.
My wife is thrilled. She found this in her shoe on St. Nicholas day, December 6th, enough time for her to choose some recipes for Christmas dinner. Like so many American viewers, she was and yet is an avid follower of Mrs. Patmore, the cook, and all the Crawley family and staff. This was a great "shoe stuffer" at a modest price.

Downton obsessed
I have developed quite the Downton obsession and since acquiring Mrs. Patmore to cook an Edwardian Christmas dinner isn't possible, I plan on trying some of the recipes in this book myself. While it might be a challenge, I think it will also be a lot of fun.

If you're expecting glorious full color pictures and delightful Downton commentary, then you will be sorely disappointed. This isn't an official Downton book (as is clearly stated on the cover) and bears little resemblance to the thick, hardcover, glossy, photo filled official books. There are spelling, grammatical, and historical errors throughout this thin, pictureless volume. The recipes aren't that interesting or practical. If you're aware of what you're getting, then it's a cute little book to flip through.

Low end of so-so
A book written in Southern California, purporting to be English. I would think the English employed a better spell check. On the first page, there was a spelling typo, and unfortunately, this trend is liberally scattered through the book. The recipes are written with British measurements and temperatures, but since the typos are so glaring, it's difficult to trust that the recipes are accurate. And-the first recipe is for something called "Brawn". This involves a pig's head, and the directions say to take a blowtorch to remove any hairs. I frankly found it difficult to continue reading after that.

good book
nice book with some good tips for food. I gave one to a friend who does not cook and she was happy with the not cooking bits.

Interesting
A lovely insight to the inner workings of the houses and their people in the day. Not that I will be able to afford some of those luscious meals but they are fun to read about. It is an added dimension to the series. If you are a Downton fan this is a book for you whether you can cook or not.
