Great Collection of Movies at a Good Price
At only $38 or so, how can you go wrong with a collection of 8 Steven Spielberg movies? I had only seen a few of these films back in VHS rental times, and of course had forgotten—or not even seen on pre-HD televisions—most of the details, so it was like watching them for the first time. In addition, there were other movies I had never seen, so that was like a bonus.A couple of the movies were not of my taste, both 1941 and Always stand out as head-scratchers. The movie 1941 was preposterous, and the dialog (scripts) of Always was so over-the-top schlocky that I could not believe any of it. I realize it was a remake of an old movie, but my goodness, they could have updated the plot and dialog to make it more real and believable. It was like a very bad version of "Ghost."Having said that, the blockbusters that are there remain blockbusters. The bonus material was absolutely fantastic. In some cases, there were 4-5-6 or more hours of bonus material on each disc. The actual production quality of the blu-rays was wonderful, the physical quality of the package was similarly appreciated, with slots for each disc encased in separate cardboard pages describing each movie. The booklet that provides even more information was appreciated as well.Overall, if you enjoy even 3-4 of these films, then the package is well worth the cost.

A MOSTLY EXCELLENT COMPILATION
This is great box set. The package is cardboard with a layer inside that feels kind of velvety to the touch, it gives the package a sort of premiun feel to it. The interior contains every disc in a sort of evelope that is arranged in a way that reminds me of a booklet and very section has different artwork from each movie as well as some information that provides interesting background and information.I will be talking briefly about every disc:Duel: The transef is quite good, with nice and dark black levels, the contrast is nice. The image is quite grainy but that is a good thing in my book since it provides a sort of amateur film to the film, the main audio track is losless and its' presented in DTS-HD master audio, the ambient sound is quite impactful with clear dialogue and nice rendering of the sound effects, the stand out for me are the scenes involving the big truck which sound big and intimidating, you really feel in the driver's seat. The extras are the following:-A conversation with Steven Spielberg-Steven Spielberg and the Small screen-Richard Matheson: The wrtiting of duel-Still Gallery-Trailer.All of the above are quite interesting and provide a nice set of trivia and anecdotes for the fans.Sugarland Express:This is the simplest of the buch all you get is the movie presentation with a couple of adio option, the main one being DTS-HD in mono and in english. With that said; the image looks great and has that early to mid 70's look that i really love and that captures the genral feeling of that era, the transfer does justice to the work of the late Vilmos Szigmond.Jaws:Now this is quite beefy, universal spare no expense in the restoration with a cleand and clear image that looks amazing, does the video stack up to the more recent 4k upgrade? probably not but still Jaws is quite a stuner and should keep everyone happy,The solund is terrific with a 7.1 DTS-Hd master audio track that captures very well every scratch on the chalk board, every note from John Williams' legendary score, the sound is inmmersive and clear all the wat trough. It has subtitles in spanish, english and frech.Extras. a bunch of documentaries capturing the impact of the 1975 classic with behind the scenes footage, interviews, and documentnaries about the restoration that Universal applied to this release, all of which sounmd wkeep you entertained for a while.1941- Considering that this is one of Spielberg's lesser films im surprised to see that an actual amount of effort when into this bluray presentation, the image is clear but not the best, with heavy gran in some scenes ans well as some crushing in the blacks, but colors and contrast are quite pleasing with bribrant coors and all of the good stuff, the audio is also quite robust with an 5.1 DTS-HD master aduio that growls and smashes and does everything that you want fropm a modern day presentation. There actually quite a surprising amout of extras, docuemnetaries and all of that, yeah yeah. solid but not the best of the bunch. let's move on.E.T. is another one of the big ones and for the most part is quite good, The image is great with only minu issues, one of wich is that the contrast is not as strong as i feel it should be and the second is that it appears that the people in charge of the restoration applied a little bit of noise reduction. Again this is not a bad thing but then again im not a purist so maybe you feel different about it, but over all is quite good.Sound is fantastic with another excellent 7.1 DTS-HD track that is immersive, dynamic and that rumbles at times and also caresses your ears, this is great stuff, no complains. The extras are quite nice with more interviews and all that nice stuff, the stand out is the reunion with the cast memebers, is nothing spectaculñar but is nice to see that everyone involved has nice memories of their time in the film set. good.Always:This is another of those relatively unknown Spielberg titles and as such it doesn' t seen to have the same amount of effort into its re release, i's say that the overall is ok but, i can now see some issues; noise redcution is evident in some moments and others have some artifial sharpening and black levels and are not as solid as some other titles, ver all this is not bad but i also dont think that this is the worst that the movie could have looked,The sound is surprisingly good, with nice dynamics and surround activity, dialogue is well rendered and the isn't seems to me any sort of noise or problem, good stuff, this is what makes this one worth it.Extars: these are bery basic with only prodction amd cast notes, i dont know this might not be one of Stve O's best films abut i also kind of like it and i wish that it had a better video restoration.Jurassic Park:Now we're talking, the video first, is very good but not perfect, sometimes there seems to be a little bit of softness going on as well as some noise redction, its not bad but i feel like it could have been a little stronger. The audio on the other hand is spectacular,DTS- HD master in 7.1; roars, sound effects, rain, music everything is good and in fact i think that this is a great title to demo your home theater, there is not much else to say.Extras: more beefy stuff, some of which was carries from the old DVD release and contain a lof of behind the scenes, making off, all of which are quite interesting with the detail of the process taken and the desicion of the adoption of CGI over traditional methods being one of the most fascinating parts of the process, there is alot to see and a lot to learn here. The lost world. Finally the sequel to the hyper maga hit: I am happy to report that the presentation is comparable and in my mind it even bests Jurassic park, the video is much nicer, with more use of shadows and light beams and stuff, this being the consequence of the change of DP from Dean Cundey To Janusz Kamisky who has a much more moody style, black level is great but at times you can see some minor crushing, but overal, everything is good. The audio is just as good as it is in JP no complaints here, this is another demo worth presentation.Extras: More meaty stuff, interviews behind the scenes. yeah this should keep you satisfied if you like the movie.

Genial presentación y excelente calidad de imagen y sonido en todas las películas. IMPORTANTE: compré la edición USA (formato vertical, no horizontal como en Europa) y os confirmo que es region free. Que a propósito, es mucho más económica.
